ok. I don't know if this belongss in religion, or humor, but I decided that since the website is serious, it will go here. if a mod disagrees you can change. this is one of those christian wesites that takes itself so seriously, you just have to laugh. the best part is the chilldren's section:

they're also intent on shutting down Landover Baptist:

my favorite character is the gurmpy athiest. I have a feeling that's what I would look like if someone tried to drag me out of bed early on a sunday morning.

Poor Habu - so many gods and none of them love him!
It's like some sort of Rod and Todd Flanders website.

HAHHAHAHAHHAHHAA. ooh that is so infinitely amusing. "if you find an atheist in your neighborhood." they are obviously not new yorkers.

This website confused me once again about Christians concerning the differences between them (denominations) . A lot of Christians will see that website as a joke or some attempt to vilify the religion by making its practitioners look stupid and ignorant. And then all these people will furthermore disagree on more detailed items one by one from that website depending on denominations. Each denomination might as well form a completely different religion altogether! They even try to convert each other. Increasinly I see Chritianity not as a big religion but a loose term for a bunch (100+) of "religions" with a bare minimum of similarities between themselves. I can no longer assume much religiously about a person who claims to be "Christian" without understanding the specifics of his denomination. Not even whether he believes in heaven/hell.

I've run across this website before and I don't think it's serious...it's a parody website run by people with a very dry sense of humor...:D

Yeah, it probably is... however, a lot of what's on it, my relatives believe. And that would be scary. My guess is that Landover and that place are made by the same satire group. Very odd looking pictures for the creators.

I think that's pretty true. I almost never identify myself as "Christian" but rather usually refer to myself as "Lutheran." Even then there are 3 different kinds of Lutherans and they're not even that similar. In my experience, though, if someone identifies themselves as Christian and nothing else, they're usually really conservative.

Holy Rollers, Batman! Have any of you clicked on the Mall Mission link?
J.C. Penny's - equates the Holiness J.C. with the lowest denomination of coin. Oh, those horrible, horrible Penny's people.
They go on to list the different type of shoppers - the normal shoppers, last minute shoppers, teens... and last on the list are the Mall Walkers:
"Perhaps the saddest of the bunch, senior citizens who have been abandoned by their Secularized family and youth-orientated Secular jobs who spend all their time circling malls under the deluded pretense of getting exercise. While they tend to not purchase things, they have still been indoctrinated to think that there is no other place for them to go in their twilight years except the Temple of Secular Consumerism. Let them know that instead of being Mall Walkers, they can be Church Walkers! Your Church can offer these pathetic and lonely people much more comfort than the cold, heartless mall can."
Oh, the horrors!! Abandoned by their godless families!! We gots to go rescue these poor folk, and drag 'em in to the churches! To think they have the deluded pretense of exercising.
And I love how we good christians can combat all this madness:
"Infiltrate a mall store by applying for a holiday job. Once you are on the inside, discourage shoppers from buying any of the store's merchandise. If they insist on buying something, slip informative pamphlets in with their purchase."

The consistant war between Landover and that website shows to me that it's probably fake. If you look at the creators page and go through them(specifically the converted kid), you get even more suspicuous stuff, such as more Landover and them waring.
But hell, I've seen ridiculous stuff before, and it being real. Such as one Baptist page I went to that said that all women with short hair are going to hell. And then there's Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell...
Anyways... One funny part, that my aunt actually believes, the earth is only 10,000 years old and dinosaurs lived here until only 4,000 years ago. And somehow the bombardier beatle disproves evolution...

I especially like the line
"Atheists are often very grumpy and bitter and will lash out at children or they may even try to trick you into neglecting God's Word"
Sheesh - now that's psychiatry!
