I am trying to find out information about Dr. Eugene F. Cordell. (1843-1913) What I know about him is that he was known as a outstanding, maryland medical historicographer, physician, author and teacher. I also know that he spent most of his career at the university of maryland.

What I am trying to find out about this man is if he had any connections to the Bethesda, Maryland area. I am asking this because in Bethesda, Maryland their is a street named " Cordell Ave" and I would like to know if it is named after him. Does anyone know if he knew the developer who built the area around Downtown bethesda, maryland. If anyone could shead some light on this subject I would enjoy hearing from you.

Note: Please don't suggest that I go to the montgomery County history society because I have already done that and the information they gave me very limited information.
