I've heard them compared to Wilco several time, I fuess I'd call them alt-country. sort of organic rock.

Organic rock is a good enough description. They are a good band - but not even in the same league as Wilco. Seen Wilco a few times - once in a 600 sqft basement bar with no stage - just them 3 feet from your face. If you like Wilco - check out the original band - Uncle Tupelo.
Also - If you like Wilco you should watch the black and white movie 'I am trying to break your heart' - a documentary filed as they recorded Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Really a great movie. A friend of mine from LA did some of the filming.
Wilco have a new album out soon - well as soon as Tweedy gets out of rehab for pain pills.

I loved that movie. it was awesome. I'm pretty ecited for the new Wilco, I really liked the last one. Jeff Tweedy looked kind of ill in the movie, so it's not entirely surprising that he's addicted to something. have you heard Wilco's collaboration with Billy Bragg? they took Woody Guthgrie lyrics that he had left without music, worte the muic to it, and recorded them. my mom bought it becasue she's such a Woody Guthrie fanatic, and I got hooked on it after I discovered that she owned a cd by a band a liked. you should definitely check it out, it's great.

I'm not a major Billy Bragg fan.
