My favorites are:
Foxtrot
Baby Blues
For Better or For Worse
Doonesbury (even though I disagree with the politics, it's still a smart strip)
The Dinette Set (http://64.78.60.228/) (I love this one)
And the dearly departed Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes
The ones that should be killed and buried are:
Garfield (not even trying any more)
Dennis the Menace (is this even relevant anymore?)
Marmaduke
Family Circle
Beetle Bailey
Hi and Lois
and just about any comic strip being drawn by someone other than the original artist.

im not too sure about my least favourites, since i read the new york times and they dont have comic strips. and even though garfield is one of my faves, i do agree that its been going on for a bit too long. time to give it a rest, jim davis.

Tom Tomorrow is good sometimes.
Keith Knight is probably my fav. K Chronicles very funny stuff.
Really enjoyed Bloom County. Glad to see Berkley Breathed coming up with some new stuff.
Never thought garfield was funny. I find most of the comics to be very drab and mundane.

Forgot about those two - those are both really good. Unfortunately Bookdocks didn't jive with the conservative readship and they yanked it. Not that I agreed with the politics either, but it was intelligently written, which is all I ask for.

The best cartoons??
My vote goes for Calving and Hobbes, The Far Side, and For Better or for Worse.
The worst cartoon?
My vote is overwhelmingly for Zippy. Not only does it not make a lot of sense, and it's unpleasant to even look at, the clown that's the main character reminds me of a child molestor. Dammit!

Far Side and Cathy are my favorites. I can't stand Family Circle and Dilbert.

Favorite :
Calvin&Hobbes, Dilbert, Far Side, Alex (british strip - I think it is not published anymore) and Robotman (a 90's strip - it does not seem to be very successful).
And James Bonk of course - it's my own strip but unfortunately it is not published in the USA (not yet ?)

Ugh, I forgot about Cathy. Cathy goes to the store, nothing fits, and the clerk with the pencil behind her ear says something snide. I think Cathy Guisewite burned out a long time ago.

Add The Far Side and Dilbert to my list as well.

my favorites; Boondocks, Zits, foxtrot, For Better Or For Worse (me and my mom follow it like crazy, we're such nerds about it)
one's I hate; family circus, Cathy (i just noticed in my grandparetns newspaper in florida that she's getting married. Iwonder if this signals the end of her strip? I really hope so)
