Baseball season is upon us, folks. The Rays and Yanks played in Tokyo to kick off the 2004 season, which should be a lot of fun.

The Rays and Yanks split that series 1-1, which ties them for the AL East lead. Boston and Baltimore play tonight in the first regular season game in 2004 in North America. I wish neither of them luck as they are AL East foes of my Rays.

I agree with the local paper - the idea of trying to make mlb popular in a country where it's already wildly popular is rather stupid. Instead of concentrating on Asia and Central America, they should concentrate on making it popular in North America, where it's actually having problems.

Baseball has two franchises, (now only one i guess) in Canada that are lacking in attendance. The Blue Jays used to draw 4 million annually and they are lucky to draw 2 now. The sport is being overshadowed by football and nascar in the U.S. Time for them to concentrate on the fan base they already have instead of worrying about "new" fans.

Oh yeah. GO Yankees!!!
