Simpson's voices want more cash (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004151662,00.html)

GREEDY Simpsons stars have gone on strike — demanding more D’oh.

The six stay-at-Homers want their pay trebled to £4.3MILLION a year EACH for providing the voiceovers for the telly cartoon family.

Stars of the hit Sky series already earn £65,000 for each half-hour show. But they are now Bart-ering for £195,000 each per episode.

Each show takes up to seven hours for the actors to complete. They can read lines straight from the scripts.

Chiefs said the rebels had stalled production. They warned fans it could keep a new series — the 16th — off screens.

One insider said: “They already have the deal of a lifetime.”

Stars led by Dan Castellanata — voice of lazy dad Homer — missed two crucial script readings.

Others demanding three-year deals worth £13million are Julie Kavner (Marge), Nancy Cartwright (Bart) and Yeardley Smith (Lisa).

They should just end the show.

It's been on long enough.

You think I like that idea?

Whammy's absolutly right.

I can't even watch it anymore, the whole experience is just too painful.

No way! I still watch that show everyday three times a day and the new ones every sunday. I would die if it was taken off the air. As far as the voices, don't tell me if they hold auditions they couldn't find some people to imitate at least some of the voices and if so it might scare the rest into staying!

I thought the Simpsons was downright unwatchable 2-3 seasons ago. I actually think it's rebounded a bit. But it's nowhere near where it was. I watch the new episodes but I won't watch a new episode rerun. If they'd actually show the really old episodes in syndication I'd watch those in a heartbeat.

Oh, they show the really old episodes quite a bit. Just two days ago they showed two from the first season. I must say though you are right. I didn't like the first season too much because of the animation, but the next five seasons were great!, but, like you said they started getting a little iffy. Like homer got way too stupid, and I hate any show that starts doing musicals. They are never ever funny. But here and there they still make some very funny ones, just not so often anymore. I still don't care and it really would be a big change in my life to come home and not be able to look forward to the simpsons anymore.
