Before the Iraq war started (March 2003), I thought that the Americans would join with Israel and go after Iran. I’m not sure how I knew it but it was a very strong feeling. I also thought the Russians would step in and resist. They have just shipped missiles to Iran and Syria to protect them from a possible attack from Israel. That may seem rather
alarming but it may be a good thing because America and Israel never attack anyone that can fight back. If they have to face a bit of sturdy opposition, they may think twice about it.
When Bumsfeld threatened North Korea’s nutty leader King-John’s-ill, he replied, in Korean of course, something like, “F..k you and your little dog too”. He offered to nuke South Korea and the ten of thousands of American soldiers stationed on the border. Bumsfeld trotted off with his tail between his legs and nothing more was heard of it.
Global oil is a crisis about to happen and pipelines across Afghanistan, Iraq and so forth are the central issue. It’s a tussle for control and picking a fight with Iran is part of the tussle.
Here are two articles that explain what it all means and why these things may come about. They are not easy reading. You have to be into politics and the ebb and flow of things to plough through them but I found them quite fascinating as they explain the ramifications of what is unfolding and why the Russians are getting involved.
