I actually find this pretty offensive, and it seems I'm not the only one...
VIRGIN ATLANTIC WILL NOT INSTALL "KISSES" URINALS
AT JFK CLUBHOUSE
(Norwalk, CT) March 19, 2004 - Virgin Atlantic recently opened its new Clubhouse at JFK's state-of-the-art Terminal 4. As one of the more quirky features of the lounge, the airline had planned to install two unique "Kisses" urinals in the Clubhouse restroom, designed by a Dutch-based company, Bathroom Mania. In response to the public's concerns about the design, the airline has decided not to move forward with the installation of these urinals in the bathroom.
John Riordan, Vice President of Customer Services, said:
"Everyone at Virgin Atlantic was very sorry to hear of people's concerns about the design of the "Kisses" urinals to be fitted into our clubhouse at JFK airport. We can assure everyone who complained to us that no offense was ever intended."
"The urinals were intended to be one of the more fun and quirky features of the new JFK Clubhouse, a project overseen by Virgin's in-house design team led by two female designers. The urinals themselves were the idea of a
female designer and we were therefore surprised by the reaction."
"However, Virgin Atlantic always aims to listen to our passengers and the general public and as a result we will not install the urinals in the bathroom at our new JFK clubhouse."

I agree with creetwins there!
i would'nt have one in a family home!
but in a modern flat or in a fancy club or pub or something it would make things more interesting (my idea anyway)
We all the have different veiw's on things tho :)

What are you going to tell your daughters when they ask why men want to piss into a woman's mouth?
I'm all for making bathrooms more interesting, by why must we degrade anyone in the process?

I dont think you would have 2 say anything really pepper.
Because if there in pubs or clubs (for adults only) then it would be for adult's only and children would'nt really know about it.

I think JFK would have really liked lip urinals. His airport seems like a great place for them.

heyhey..hoho.........wait up..
I am all for art, but when did i say i wanted that one in my bathroom? If it was in a public establishment than we would never see it any way.........
when I saw it my thoughts immediatley went to all the possibilities!!!! Great big flowers, a huge throne.....waterfalls and rainforest themes....the possibilities are endless!!!
what about a hugetrickling waterfall into a nice huge "pond" which would really be my tub!
A toilet that doesn't really look like a toilet!! God those old white things are sooooo boring, (mind you i do have a black toilet but it's not as neat as it sounds....)

I don't know about you but when I piss, I find that my mind always focuses on other things. I usually look directly at the wall in front and think about whatever I was doing before I entered the bathroom or what I want to do later. For that reason it wouldn't make a difference to me what the urinal looks like. Plus, if you change all the urinals to a certain design, after a short time even those who awwed and ooohed in the beginning will stop paying attention anymore. Anybody else felt the same way?

OK but why precisely women's lips ? I agree with Pepper, this is rather offensive and definitely bad taste.
But that leads to another question : why in our society everything has to be "entertaining" and fun ? Toilets are toilets, I don't see the need to make them funny.

Works of art.

I thought the only urinals that could be called "works of arts" were the "ready made" by Duchamps. More than 50 years ago if I'm not wrong.

Well, it has been 50 years, it's ok for this to occur again.

Too bad for you all, the company has decided to pull the idea of its "lip shaped" urinals in favour of a less derogatoy design. Pissing into a urinal shaped like a woman's mouth? I'm disgusted by the idea. I'm even more disgusted by the fact that anyone civil could support such a horrible idea. What's next, pissing on the face of a coloured person? Taking a crap on a toilet with a disabled person's face on it? It's sickening as to what ends businesses will go to get some publicity.

Now people who like to get peed on might be offended by your post.
Honestly I could care less. There is tons of crap happening in the mens' room that I don't need to know about, so ultimatley this doesn't really affect me.

Oh darn, I'm so mad! I really wanted to denigrate some women.
I'm so damn sick of people that fall all over themselves to object to the treatment of others so that they can impress their friends with how open-minded and tolerant they are. If women object to this, then I will support them. If men object for the women, then I could care less.

I wish to object on behalf of the men who dress-up as women...
I'm not offended by the design but I do think it's somewhat bizarre...I think it makes a statement about the artist/plumber who designed it...

It certainly does. It might say something about the billionaire owner of the airline as well . . . .
