If you were a lawyer, would you rather be a defense lawyer or a prosecutor? I'd rather defend.

I am a lawyer, but I don't do either - I work for a big evil foreign company. And for good reason. If you're a prosecutor, you have to spend a lot of your time prosecuting people for political reasons (see Martha Stewart). If you're defense attorney, you have to defend a lot of unsavory people. In most cases, even the innocent ones are unsavory.

Lionel, since you are a lawyer, I want your honest opinion on something. Does it seem fair that a jury of commom people should decide the fate of someone. I've always felt this should be done by someone that's more educated with the system.

It's just as fair as any other system. Judges have their own biases too. But usually the defendant can waive his right to a jury trial and have the judge rule on the evidence, so that option does exist.

Thanks Lionel. I've only served once as a juror, and I guess I'm a softee, because I actually felt bad because we found the kid guilty, even tho the evidence was there. I never want to be a part of a decision like that again. It's not my problem, as I see it.
