No Ford Tempos? The Chevy Nova disaster? Not a single Kia or Hyundai?

You are correct the HUMMER is one of the worst for the buck. When I was in the service the HUMMER had just come out, this thing could hardly get out of its own way. "FOUR WHEEL" mag had an article a couple years back that rated toyota, jeep, susucky, and hummer. Hummer came in last, it was to big and clumsy, even rolled over more then once. Toy and Jeep came in close, Toy was best because of the full time 4 wheel drive.

AMC Pacers weren't bad, just ugly. The Edsel wasn't any worse than any other Ford / Lincoln-Mercury product made at the time, it was merely a marketing disaster. Now, for the others listed, yeah, they are/were rolling pieces of junk. The Trablant was an East German production, complete with a 2 cycle motor, and extensive use of cardboard. That particular piece of crap cannot be brought to the U.S. even for display in a transportation museum. At least 2 automotive magazines have made the attempt and have been shut down by both the Customs folks & the EPA.

Kia = Killed in Action

now really, who would buy a car that stands for that?

The Kia Sorrento is named for a cheese company in Buffalo, NY.

There are a few hanging upside-down in the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame (from U2's PopMart tour).

Yes, I've seen those. However, they have no drivetrain, which satisfied the EPA and Customs saw them as stage props, rather than transportation.

Which is basically what they always were. :D If I recall correctly, the engines in those things were originally used as the starter motors for Russian tanks.

In high school I has a shit brown 1974 AMC Hornet that was really a piece of crap. I replaced the entire brake system just in time for the transmission to go out, then in the army I bought a piece of crap dodge charger just for the stereo, wound up abondoning it at a gas station, then in college I moved up to 1984 Dodge Omni that blew up on me on a highway onramp going 30 MPH. Now though I drive a loaded 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan with 2 car seats and cookie crumbs all over it, and its all alright

There are other brands of automobiles to choose from, Travh - you have my permission to try something other than Dodge now that AMC has folded.

I guess he wanted to stick with the company that bought AMC. I actually grew up in the city where they made those piece of crap AMCs (and later - Renaults!) Every other car in my high school parking lot was an AMC. It's a wonder anyone got home from school.

My parents had a Dodge Omni with fake wood on the side. An old girlfriend of mine had one that started on fire. Unfortunately she survived.

Only AMC I ever toyed with was the '69 Javelin 6cyl stick that my first wife had. Wasn't a bad car, not the greatest either. I've known a few Jeeps, but never considered those as AMC's, they were Jeeps! Have never owned a Chrysler product, but would purchase a Dodge p/u.

My grandfather had an ugly old car in his garage and the name of it was Henry J. I don't know what happened to it after he died. That car was super ugly. :D

That makes me laugh. Can't believe people actually tried to sell those cars.

I drove my parent's Jeep Laredo around for a couple years until I turned 18 and bought an 89 Chevy Camaro IROC. I sold that one when I was 20 and bought a Toyota Matrix. Which my parents have and I'm still paying for, and I only got to drive for 6 months before I joined the Army, lol.

I think in addition to the Dude not liking products and songs from this decade, he also doesn't like threads from this decade. :)

In my first marriage we owned a Chevy Vega for about a week and took it back. When you would use the a /c it would make the car quit running. We and half of his family had Pintos. Hatchbacks and stationwagons. Automatics and sticks....lol You should have seen grandma's front yard on a Sunday for dinner way back in the 70's!

i had a Vega and a Pontiac Astra, the Vega's even less respected clone...but at $200 each, they might have been the best deal in wheels i've ever gotten. sure the Vega had poorly formed sheet metal to replace the passenger floor pan and i got soaked when i hit a puddle, but the silicone impregnated cylinder walls in the engine were one of the few that GM got right. in 3 years of hard running, all i ever did to the engine is change the oil.

anything made after computers were put in vehicles.
can barely work on them.
one day, you can forget about it. to even work on the brakes you'll need a special degree to enter a code into the comp to let the car know it just had new brakes installed. or it won't start.

The entire Plymouth line.Saw a car the other day,and just had to
drive right up behind it at a stop light and read the logo..Yep ...
a Plymouth.Grandma cars.
If they had a muscle car,it probably required geritol in with the
oil.

Mercury Topaz

Damn car broke down more than it ran then the two back doors wouldn't unlock, which made getting my youngest daughter in and out of her car seat a major pain in the ass. Then the trunk wouldn't unlock. I said screw it and sent the thing to the junk yard and got my Neon.

The entire Plymouth line.
I had a 15 year old 1964 Plymouth Valiant and a 73 Duster, both with the Slant 6 engine.

They ran great but eventually rusted to death (why don't cars rust anymore).

Cars today have thinner sheet metal, but don't rust.Galvanized
steel.
