Let's see how neat you guys keep your computers.

HOW TO:

-Minimize everything so we can see the desktop.
-Press the Print Screen key (it's in a cluster of three keys at the top of your keyboard, to the left of the three lights that represent Num Lock, Caps Lock, and so on)
-Open Paint.
-Edit > Paste
-Save it, in JPEG format.
-Attach it to your post. In the Add Reply menu, under the post box there are four checkboxes, under those is a place to attach your picture.

NOTE: If it comes back with an error saying the picture is too big after you try to post it, try shrinking it. Go to Image > Stretch/Skew and enter 95 in the top 2 boxes, then click OK and save.

Why no Linux, Blib?

It is acting up REALLY annoyingly... I finally got the Slackware 9.1 isos downloaded and burned, so after I copy the stuff I want to keep off of my partition I'll get it on there, and then I'll get my desktop, after messing with it of course.

AOL is the most worthless piece of crap software...

Blibblob
01-11-2004, 06:41 PM
I'll finish your sentence: ever.

Get rid of AOL and it will get a whole third cleaner. And the spyware will go away, so you wont need that AOL spyware thingy... Get Mozilla. And some free email thing. And they let you keep the whole instant messenger thing.

I can't believe these companies can manage to trick people into buying their shit software...

Yeah, it's hard to believe there are so many people that don't spend 16 hours a day fiddling with their computers. Some of us have lives and relationships with other humans.

I have a framed print of that very same image on the wall to my left. Escher is one of my favorites as well.

Astropol, which MacOS?

:p to Lionel... I don't spend 16 hours(even though I have 13 hours to go untill I am halfway done with the Linux From Scratch installation, compiling takes forever)... But I did spend 5 hours after school attempting to make my computer boot up again. Windows somehow overrided the master boot record and took over LILO, the linux loader, so I was stuck with a selection between NT and NT, both of which are on my computer only in the sense that 2000 is based off of NT technology... Ok, I'm done ranting.

Biochemgirl, how in the hell can you live with that? I'd be constantly staring at it looking for the begining(I know it doesn't exist), and never get anything done!

GO DOP!!! Redhat? Which version, did you get enterprise?

Lungdop Philing
01-14-2004, 01:54 PM
bb

Currently I'm running RedHat 9.3/kernel 2.4.20-6/KDE 3
which is standard RH as we know it. Not sure if it's called 'Enterprise' (yet) but after April 30, 'Enterprise' will be the only supported RH outside of the 'Fedora' edition which is for developers and not recommended for mission critical stuff.

I'll probably be switching to another distro at that time.

Well truth be told, I do stare at it constantly. My favorite part of the picture is the two people at the top center where one is walking up the same set of stairs the other is walking down. My job is kind of boring and when I'm not studying I need something to occupy time.

Blib,
Mac OS 8 at my office, on an old ugly grey G3. They are replacing our macs by PCs whenever they have a chance so I do not complain tool loudly.
At home I have a Cube with Mac OS9.2 and my lover uses a 2d generation Imac with X 10.2 (we are going to upgrade both to 10.3 soon).

Gotta love those French Maid outfits.

I actually ended up liking 9.x better than OSX. I regretted ever changing.

You mean the wallpaper? I did a Google search for "Simpsons wallpaper", as I recall.

creetwins,

Go to www.webshots.com. Download the free software. Don't worry, no bugs or spyware. The software allows you to place images on your screen. It'll also allow you to have a calender and to change the image everyday, it also goes into screensaver mode when you aren't busy at the computer.

Boo...my screen shot is 2.25MB unshrinked. In JPEG format! In order to fit your specification I'd have to shrink it to like 24x18 lol.

BorgHunter

Back off the quality, there, Dio. ;)

BorgHunter
01-03-2005, 08:58 PM
My lord, Dio, what did you use to encode that? It's a JPEG, a great deal smaller than mine, has some awful quality, and somehow is 10 KB larger than mine!

All right now I got it.

Was using MS Photo and had 32bit true color background.
