Perhaps those broadcasters should have watched George Carlin first.

Certainly broadcasters have meltdowns of varying levels.
One night I'm watching the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He's got Jack Benny & Rich Little on. Little almost a brand-new talent at this time. Little does a solo stand-up imitating Benny / Carson doing their own news show in the style of Huntley/Brinkley. It was funny, right up to the point that Benny (Little) mouths a silent profanity in Carson's (again, Little) direction for "stealing" a story. At that, Jack Benny leaped from his seat next to Carson's desk & had the ultimate meltdown because he'd been portrayed as using profanity (S.O.B. was the actual term mouthed) when "... never in my whole career ..." & ".... I'll see you never work again ..." was shouted by Benny at Little. Of course, everyone was stunned and it took many seconds before the scene quickly went to commercial.
Was not one of Carson's better nights, but was fun to watch.
