why do you think it's important to go hunting for it if it's not important enough for you to post a link?

.... but important enough to post a topic on it?

Ahhhh... the never ending struggle to cast a negative light on all Christians based on the actions of a few zealots.

Carry on, Sir Bigot! We all wait with bated breath!

Oh please get over yourself. I think this is a important organization and thank goodness Michael Weinstein has the balls to put up with death threats to him and his family. It has nothing to do with bashing all Christians but people who don't respect the separation of church and state and commit terrorist acts against those that do!

I don't "feel the need" to take up for anyone.

To be honest, the Fred Phelp's of this world are not only terrible people but are also an embarassment to those of us that try to be true. I assure you that no one detests those crazy evangelicals any more than I do.

That being said, I also do not like people that try to paint all Christians into this whacko mold. It's just as bigoted and small minded as saying "look at all those black gang-bangers" impling all blacks are criminals. It's a back door attack... albeit thinly veiled.

By the way....

I only "feel the need" to call out people with a bigoted agenda.

Those are good points, OP, and I'll also add this--

As many know, our area, well, almost half our state, has been subjected to a cruel natural disaster. Many here--hard workers all--lost almost everything they owned. Beautiful homes are tilted entirely off their foundations due to Mother Nature's capricious rampage.

We dodged a bullet for many years but you can only dodge a bullet so many times.

Folks, that could be any one of us.
We were fortunate that our home was spared being razed to the ground, as the foundationless homes will be, and we had insurance.

But what about homes that don't?
Do you think that a few thousand dollar grant from FEMA will make up for this loss?

Many area churches have come to the rescue of these households. I cannot tell you how many boxes of new clothes, buckets of cleaning supplies, brooms, mops, gallons of bleach, plastic garbage bags, boxes of food, furniture, diapers, baby clothes, and toys were handed out for FREE to many many people here in our community. No questions asked, no preaching, no fire and brimstone--just a hug, a "God Bless You" and an offer to help. These fine people, true Christians in every sense of the word, could care less if any who aked for help were churchgoers, athiest, Muslim, or whatever. They only wanted to help those in need. And they have, may God bless them.

It has really opened my eyes to the fact that there are truly good people out there.

IOW, the bashing of ALL of the faith is old, it's mean, it's uncalled for, and it's false.

For the record I find this site very important and I don't bash all Christians but when they are crazy like the evangelical nuts that attack a Jewish person just because they don't want them pushing their religious views.... I will comment on it. Now if you want to say something about what these people are doing fine but just attacking me because you think I'm bashing all Christians is wrong. I have a lot of Christians friends and many family members are also Christians. When I speak up about something like this they never say "oh you are trying to make all Christians look bad". Why not try commenting on the article?

Good for you.

Too bad that the superstitionists hereabouts cannot admit that there are many, many ignorant Christian bigots in this country willing to carry out such threatening hatefilled acts.

Why not try commenting on the article?

Oh come now!

They don't want to do that. Not with a ten foot pole.

The religionists would much rather spend their time passing out the usual bullshit excuses..............

"Aww, it's just the work of a few crazy evangelicals. Those people weren't 'real' Christians, you see."

"Oh, calling attention to attacks as these is just not right! It is you who is being bigoted and small minded, not the people putting up the swastikas!"

"Oh, this is nothing but a back door attack"
