I rarely watch the television these days. I was over my friends house the other day and she had some quasi entertainment/news shows on (like hard copy or entertainment tonite).
They had a few fluff pieces about encounters with sharks and the like. However the main piece of the night really depressed me. The story was about this bride who died on her wedding night. The way that the show presented this "story", they teased you into believing she may have lived or died. Then at the end they hit you like a hammer with the news that "she passed away", and that "her husband of only moments was devastated".
I guess im getting really old and naive. But it makes me wonder. Is this what passes for entertainment for the majority of us these days? Have we become so jaded that stories like this are the best we can put on the air?
The show was one of those 7:00 shows that I used to watch to take a load off at the end of the work day and while watching dinner. This particular one made me lose my appetite.
I couldnt find which show aired this, but i googled some keywords and found the bride they were talking about. I understand that this is news. There is a place for news like this. I dont think that place is a 7:00 supposed entertainment show.
