Unfortunately, I work out at a gym where they play teeny-bop, stupid music videos. So I see these pathetic videos and nearly vomit.. so I figure I'd make an on going thread... of the WORST songs/music videos I've seen.
The first edition: "The Best Damn Thing" by Avril Lavigne
Uggghhh this song is so bubble gummy, and it's not good at all. And "Team Avril" cheerleaders? LMAO. Just a bad song. An dnot to mention the egoist attitude, which all the little girls will emulate. That's ALL we need

"Billy Don't Be a Hero" by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods.
I defy anyone to top this for bad.
I'm not going to post a link. It's Tuesday, the holiday's over, it's gloomy, and it sucks to be at work. I'm not going to make anyone's day WORSE by making them listen to this "song".

while it was a blatant rip-off, and you can dislike it for that reason... the song was pretty cool... in 1989-90. Hey I still know all the words.

2nd Edition: "It's all about me" by "J'zabhel"
http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/Jzabehl/Its-All-About-Me--35645402
This song is horrendous. It carries such an egoistic attitude, basically encourages girls to be bitches, and musically has nothing really to it. I love how the video has a girl playing a guitar when THERE ARE NO GUITAR PARTS. And all of the girls in that video.. standing there with there arms crossed.. looking all bitchy and saying "it's all about me" need to be slapped right across their prissy faces... next.

No, but he was on top of the world. EVERYONE listened to that song, whether they want to admit it or not. It was before there were massive outbreaks into different cultures of music. It was on every radio station. I remember hearing it on rock stations, soft rock stations.. places that a rap song has NEVER been played. It simply took over the world for about a month.
That can, of course, never happen again. It's like the record rating that the last episode of "M*A*S*H" received. That was before cable TV. EVERYONE watched that. I would probably bet that the last episode of "Seinfeld", if not for Cable TV, would have eclipsed that record.

Third Edition: "She said, I said" by NLT
http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/NLT/She-Said-I-Said-Time-We-Let-Go--48858319
Watch this HILARIOUSLY LAME VIDEO. This is so lame. Its an emo boy band.. pretty much New Kids on the block or N Sync but emo. And they are showing all the close-ups of hot girls.. hey, THEY must GET these hot girls! LMAO.
I swear, nowadays, it's just a formula to get famous in the pop culture crowd. Get a video, show hot girls and face-fuck the camera, show off your body.. and your automatically a good "musician"... That's sickening. There should be separate "entertainment" and "music" sections... because some people are just psuedo-musicians, while others actually have passion. Some are slaves to their music, others just want to be famous.

I actually like that song.
As far as songs I don't like... anything emo. Can't think of any specific ones right now, as I hardly ever listen to the radio - I only listen to my ipod, and why would I subject myself to music I don't like? :p

What a nightmare.I hated that song too and it was very popular(not with me) when I lived in Los Angeles in the early 80's. I listened to KROQ the alternative/new wave station and could not understand why they played that song all the time. I like some of Phil Collins and Genesis but Sussudio SSSucks!

Are Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romane emo because I dont like them? I actually won tickets to Fall Out Boy but did not go. There is probably some emo group or song that I think is ok but can't think of one of hand. I never sure exactly what groups are considered emo anyway.

Strange..
I don't mind the Sheryl Crowe song, and I like Sussuddio by Phil Collins... although it's full of Paula-Abdul/Janet Jackson type keyboard horns and sound effects... It's a decent song IMO. I have heard multiple people say that the song is wretched though, even established musicians. So I may be in the minority here.

I like My Chemical Romance.
Not a big fan of Fall out Boy.
I like all kinds of music. One minute I'm listening to Disturbed and the next minute George Strait.
Most overplayed song in my opinion... Lips of an Angel by Hinder. I liked the song at first but after hearing it every 5 minutes on the radio killed the like of it pretty quickly.

Same here,I can listen to most any music and find something I like.
That song "Call Me When Your Sober" by Evanessence just made me want to smash any radio in sight that was playing it. It was so over played, much like any new song to come out these days is overplayed.

Yes and that is why I hate radio.
Growing up everyone told me to be a DJ. But I could never play some of the songs out today. I would have very angry listeners!

That hinder song IS not that good... the first time I heard it, all my friends were saying how good it was.. and I was left thinking "is that it?"...
As for Evanescence... they blow. The girl sounds the same in every song, she hangs on the same note all the time, and the videos are just of her... 100% non-stop her... geez, get over yourself.

There was this station out of Detroit (not sure if it's still around) that played literally everything from all types of genres of music. I liked that station if I was in the car.
Lately though I take some CD's along and listen to them.

Horrid song. It's about 10 years too late, and is pretty much a 2 track song... yet it's played ALL the time at the gym I go to.. quite annoying.

Also, was tortured with a song by Paramore.
I think it took 2 years off my life.

Would you believe Billboard achieved it's milestone 1,000th #1 hit with that song?
My personal disdain for a music group is Linkin Park. I find all their songs lyrically depressing, though they do have good beats. Anything emo-related (my chemical romance, fall out boy, hawthorne heights and the like) are horrible. Punk rock/Emo rock is what's killing the music scene today.

I don't particularly like Linkin Park, although their less depressing songs are tolerable. I HATE emo... but I do like punk, even some pop-punk. It can be a little whiny but most of the pop-punk bands make up for that with better, more upbeat songs. Generally I try not to judge an artist just by their hit singles, because most bands have better songs on their albums.

punk bands have devolved quite a bit.. they aren't technically "punk" bands, because they are what is "in"... punk is supposed to be against society, and now that society has embraced goth/punk/emo... it can be LABELED as punk, but that label would be misleading.

I was unaware that "punk" was still "in". And anyways, the word "punk" can describe the attitude, the way of life, OR the style of music. They don't always have to go together.

I can't stand Linkin Park. I do like punk rock but don't care much for most emo. I like older punk bands like the Clash,Ramones,Sex Pistols, the Stranglers,X etc. Green Day and Rancid are ok but not as good as the older punkers in my opinion. I can't stand Fall Out Boy either. I had free tickets to them last year and did not even go. I like some "Goth" like Sisters of Mercy.
