i just watched a few clips of the sea lion show at seaquarium. its like a fricken circus act! by law ALL marine parks are required to have some sort of education in at least 5 % of their show.
all it was were sea lions jumping through frilly loops and walking on their hands for scraps of food. everything was all colorful and circus like. its almost worse than lolitas situation. the show is pointless and i fail to see how it is entertaining except for young children who are taught at a young age that cruelty is entertainment.
here are the shows. see for yourself...

I had a similar experience at Sea World in San Antonio, TX last January. The Shamu show was more like Circus Soleil with performers doing acrobatics than a marine life show. I was disapointed.

The show has become more focused on the trainers. However I think Sea World shows more of the special relationship that, despite being different than one another, trainers and orcas can share.
Also if you look up Lolita the orca on youtube as well you can see that is not the case with her and her trainers. Lolita and her trainers perform to the same crowd, and do some behaviors together, but they are seperate. Not shown as one bond like Sea World portrays.
Also you will see that Lolita's behaviors differ greatly from those orcas at Sea World. She simply does not have the space to perform flips, twists and the other strength showing acts as Sea World orcas.
