Hello all,
Well, I am leaving my position of Foreman at the truck shop and going to work for the Boeing Corporation. I feel it is a company to retire from eventually, I'll stay as long as they'll have me.

I've passed all the tests (drug, medical, & background) and be given a start date. I've already put in my two weeks notice. Things are looking good. Better pay, better benny's, better schedule........what more could I want?

Yay for me! :D

Congrats on the new gig!

I know someone on these boards who's an ex Boeing employee. I'll pass along your good news and maybe they can give you some advice about staying there until retirement.

I will feel safer in the skies, knowing that YOU, my friend, have in some way contributed to the comfort and safety of my flying experience. Congrats to you!

You should change your handle to 707!

Congrats on the job. Now get in there and fix this 787 business. They've really screwed the pooch on that one.

I've been in the job since the 23rd of May.......I love it so far. It has been great. They didn't send be to the assembly area, but it may happen later.

I have an update for Lionel concerning the 787 Dreamliner. The first 787 completed it Power Up on Friday. Power Up is where the aircraft has electricity fed to it's systems for the first time. Everything is meticulously checked and systems are powered one by one until all are operational. It must be quite exciting to be a part of that. I always feel a kind of thrill when I start one of my automotive engine rebuilds for the first time, imagine what an entire aircraft must feel like. It has to be awe inspiring. By the way, I don't work on anything involving passenger jets. just defense equipment.

TTFN.
