“You are a donkey, Mr. Danger.” – Hugo Chavez, on March 19, 2006, referring to pResident B*sh in a diatribe that included labels such as drunkard, genocidal assassin and coward.
ROTFL.
Sounds like Mr. Chavez has the Village Idiot of Crawford, Texas pegged perfectly.
Chavez said he would not permit Colombia's U.S.-backed government to establish an American military base in La Guajira, a region spanning northeastern Colombia and northwestern Venezuela.
The Venezuelan leader said if Colombia allows the base, his government will revive a decades-old territorial conflict and stake a claim to the entire region.
"We will not allow the Colombian government to give La Guajira to the empire," Chavez said, referring to the United States during a speech to a packed auditorium of uniformed soldiers. "Colombia is launching a threat of war at us."
Bravo, Mr. Chavez.
Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa — a close Chavez ally — has repeatedly said that he will not renew a 10-year lease on the base in the Pacific port of Manta when it expires next year.
It seems that perhaps the tide is turning (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10927120), and the rest of the leaders of the world are growing very tired of the U.S. and its constant threats of terrorism and war, and are beginning to make a stand against the world's number one exporter of terrorism.
Bravo, President Correa.

hmmm... FT, I thought the president of a country could move troups, bases, equipment, etc ANYWHERE within the countries borders without it being deemed an "act of aggression"...
Oh wait, that only applies to Venezuela and not Columbia.

Even if your allegations had merit, and trust me - they don't, then being the world's number one exporter of terrorism must almost rival being the world's number one exporter of cocaine, poverty, and STDs, right?
Bravo, Mr. Chavez and Morales.

i'm wondering what Hugo thinks he's going to do? he could attack it , but i don't think his army would be real keen on the idea. he could shut off the oil tap, but i don't think his treasury is real keen on that either.

Why doesn't Chavez simply wait until President Obama and a feckless Democrat Congress cave in to his demands? We all know that is what will happen after next January.

america backs and supports dictators, and creates wars for no real reason at all, and that is ok. but a country tries to defend itself from that, or backs others in other countries that have similar ideologies, is not ok.
america and its schizophrenic ways.
i don't support any war. it is just poor people being manipulated by the top 1% of any country.
but i do support the destructuring of arrogant nations. whether by force, or mere exchange of ideas.
america is on the downturn in the world. its power is stretched too thin, and to really think of it. go ahead. start another war. there ain't no money for it. that'll crack america easier.

No.
Not even close.
Besides which, explain to me how you "export poverty"....??
Also, the American CIA is hardly innocent when it comes to drug trafficking throughout Latin America. Quite the opposite. It has for many decades had a great deal of say so over the transportation and distribution of cocaine from that part of the world.

Au contraire.
They do it all for a very specific reason; massive profits for US based Corporations.
