Just thought I'd share with you all the thrilling news that I finally won a segment of NASCAR Fantasy after 6 years of trying.

I've had a second place and 2 third places but never a winner until now.

I won $200. There's a ten dollar entry fee per player (in our league). With the winnings, I'll buy Bubba and me a nice dinner and then spend the rest on gardening stuff. And pay for a new entry for next segment.

PS. Bubba finished last. He is not a happy camper.

What they spend on fuel, they try to cost-cut on tires. Like Tony said earlier this year, the Goodyear tires they've been using so far this season are terrible!

Is cost to maintain the team a variable in the fantasy play?

Thankfully, no, es.
In ESPN's "Stockcar Challenge"--each driver is assigned points. The better the driver, like Jimmie, Burton, Tony, or Harvick (even Kyle, who's in first place in the points standings--blech) the more the driver is worth.
Kyle is now worth 24 points.

Each team owner has to pick 5 drivers, yet stay under 100 points.
The team I have for this segment--Tony, Burton, Harvick, Bobby Labonte, and Reed Sorenson, is coming in at 99. 7 points. Whew!

PS. I did terrible at Dover. Three of my drivers went out within the first 16 laps. I scored a miserable 383 points. What a laugher!
I went from first place to dead last on the strenghth of one race.
