There's an election comin' up.....and, besides, Iraq's oil is our oil, again!!! (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A35053-2003Dec27.html)

"With the administration's plans tempered by time and threat, the U.S. administrator of Iraq, L. Paul Bremer, and his deputies are now focused on forging compromises with Iraqi leaders and combating a persistent insurgency in order to meet a July 1 deadline to transfer sovereignty to a provisional government.

"There's no question that many of the big-picture items have been pushed down the list or erased completely," said a senior U.S. official involved in Iraq's reconstruction, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "Right now, everyone's attention is focused [on] doing what we need to do to hand over sovereignty by next summer."

Gee, d'ya s'pose Iraqi's are gonna wake up oily one mornin' with their very own FREELY picked leaders and a genuine democracy? Well, oil be damned!

Or is Bush just stringin' 'em along as he secretly prepares a... crude... puppet government to place them under?
Fantastic stuff, as always, Mr. Shaman! Stay the course!

if we went there for Oil then it has got to be the most expensive oil in the history of the world past present or future.

Just another cynical miss-informed view by Mr Shaman - or should I say "link" - Mr Shaman has no views of his own.

Well.......it has been attempted, previously.......but, the NeoCons have (obviously) forgotten-about the outcome. (http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/0822/p08s01-wome.html)

How inconvenient it must be, for oil-interests, that the folks (in the Middle East) forget nothing........while average-Americans prefer wallowing in the convenience of self-inflicted ignorance of the world-around-them.

I guess these are some o' the benefits of living in a country where God has given us short memories, Bush-family politics and Reality-T.V.

Lucky us...........

I'd say so.......after considering how many Americans (well......except for the 1%er's kids) have died to keep it flowing!!

I guess we should look at the bright-side.......seeing as how the price-at-the-pump has gone down to $1.50/gallon!!!
