http://new.us.music.yahoo.com/blogs/listoftheday/17793/the-ten-most-annoying-singers Hmm, maybe they mean that he is annoying not his voice. :D I agree Billy Corrigan has a whiny voice but I still like him and don't find it annoying.

Oh please, this list is spot on. While I like Smashing Pumpkins, I can understand why someone would find his voice annoying.
I couldn't agree more with James Blunt and John Mayer... Mayer doesn't even sing, he just kinda copied off of Dave matthew's light stuff. James Blunt just tries to be as fragile and sing falsetto. I don't get why singing falsetto is some phenomenon, I can do it, most singers can. Bono has been doing it for years. It's basically squeaking your voice up when you can't reach a note with your normal voice.
Scott Stapp belongs way up there. More that I would put on the list:
Chad Kroeger from Nickleback- like nails on a chalkboard.
Tom Delonge from Blink 182- who over-accents his canadian accent.
Shakira - "my hips don't lie".. horrid singing on that song.
Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance
Serj Tankian from System of a Down
Nelly Furtado- sings through her nose... sounds horrid.
Ashlee Simpson- only a singer because her sister was famous.
Aaron Lewis- Staind - uggghhh, annoying voice, butchered "Black" by Pearl Jam.
Fred Durst- Why isn't he #1?
Chris Brown of Trapt

Well I would have to totally agree with you on Fred Durst. I would add Kid Rock too. He's just annoying period.

Fuck Kid rock.. one hit wonder.. metallica song destroyer... one good CD.. and then went to the tabloids to stay popular.
Bottom line.. for how much "musical talent" he has... his talent-to-popularity/money ratio is way off.

Kid Rock sucks.
As for this list, I can't say I'm a fan - he's basically knocking on any singer who's popular and has a deviant voice. I don't knnabout you guys, but I appreciate diversity in my music.

Yea, it's good to have different voices, but the ones who suck are those who only emulate and don't sing a natural tone. They don't "just sing".. they have computers make their town and pitch just right, and their ghetto slang or whatever accent just right to appeal to a crowd. They aren't artists, they are commercial entities.

Did you ever think that the singers who have certain regional accents or slang might actually use them in real life? Maybe because they're, you know, from that region?
