I just had to put my best friend down on Tuesday. :(

He was the light of my life, and probably the (pardon the expression) faggiest dog on Earth (a remnant of a failed relationship), but I loved the little bastard with all my heart. He was a beautiful, 15 lb Pug, who crawled into my heart, and made every day just a little bit better with his unconditional love and companionship. I'm crushed right now (I'm actually balling my eyes out as I'm typing this), and if not to make matters worse, I can't shake feeling empty inside with his untimely passing. It was almost 1 month to the day prior to his fifth birthday. To bring you up to speed, he was losing weight and I couldn't figure out why until I brought him to a specialty clinic where they performed an MRI and found an inoperable brain tumor. It was with a very heavy heart that I made the decision to euthanize him that day. Thank you for reading this, and god bless.

It's hard to lose a friend like that.

The day our German Shepherd died, almost 40 years ago, remains to this day one of the worst days of my life.

You can rest easy knowing you provided him with a good home and lots of love.

My heart hurts for you Prae. I'm getting all teary thinking about losing my good buddy Durward last year. The ache never truly goes away, I think, but with some time and good friends/family to lean on, it gets a little easier to bear.

Meanwhile, I'm sending my best thoughts your way, in hopes that tomorrow will be a little better, and the next day a little better than that...

Sorry to read about your loss Prae. Having always had a little four legged buddy around all my life, you never do get used to when they leave you.

You have my condolences Prae, it's never easy to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

Give yourself a month or so to grieve, then go save a stray from the SPCA in memory of your pug-nosed friend. It's what he woulda wanted for you.

Sorry, for your loss. It's tough losing unconditional love from your pet. There are a lot of dogs and cats that need to be adopted though so when the time is right I hope you get another nice dog.

I had to put our dog down about 3.5 years ago and it was awful. But better for the dog, no doubt. Sorry for your loss.

Wow, sorry to read about your loss Prae. It's really tough to lose a pet. They become such a huge part of our life and thus are an equally huge missing piece.

I hope when you heal a bit, you will bring another into your life in memory of the little guy you just lost.
