Cindy Sheehan Is Willing To Take One For The Team (http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/cindy_sheehan_is_willing_to_take_one_for_the_team/)
I’m not really sure just who’s team she on, but she has just shown that she’s willing to publicly humiliate herself even more than she already has (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/04/26/BAU310AJJ9.DTL) by trying to take Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat:
Peace activist Cindy Sheehan wants to snatch House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat from her in November, but first she’s going to need the help - and signatures - of 10,198 friends and supporters.
Sheehan was at San Francisco City Hall on Friday to take out papers for her independent run for Congress, but without those signatures from voters in the district, her name won’t show up on the ballot.
“It’s an uphill battle,” said Sheehan, who vowed to run against Pelosi in July after the speaker refused to start impeachment proceedings against President George Bush. “But I’m excited about the signature-gathering process. It’s going to be an opportunity to talk to people about our campaign.”
Yeah, well, good luck with that whole thing there, Cindy. I could tell you that this is probably the most self-delusional thing since Medea Benjamin thought she could protest Pakistani policies - in Pakistan - but why spoil the fun?
Heh.

Nancy wouldn't be the 1st Speaker to lose her seat....that last one was a Democrat, if i recall correctly.

No she would stand a better chance taking Mike Thompson's seat.

It is pretty simple. She is disgusted, as are millions of Americans, at Nancy for thinking she has any right to take impeachment "off the table".
Running against her is only logical.

are you sure? the 1st District's Republican candidate had nearly 3x the percentage of the vote than the 8th District's. that tells me the 8th has more left wing loonies, and who's loonier than Cindy?

There has to be GROUNDS for Impeachment.
I know it's poplar among the far leftist fringe to toss that word
around like a frisbee.

doesn't the 1st District run all the way up the coast? that's a lot of ground to cover for a novice with no party support. even I could walk across the 8th in a day.

i think they'd go over better in Orange County...well, Brooks would. i doubt Prae would take the pay cut, and Foolie is Foolie-even his base wouldn't understand him:bike:

LMAO.. if they were doing girl on girl action.. I would need a bottle of jaeger just to NOT barf.
Cindy Sheehan is a media whore, and the media is on her side. They are using her as a puppet by exploiting anything she does x10 just to push their own agendas. Most media folk are liberal.. and as trusting as dharm and FT are that they just HONESTLY report the news, they are humans, they will take what they can take.

Makes no sense. Do you remember how the media was FOR the war? You did not say the media is liberal then.

Media for the war? pretty much EVERYONE was "for" the war, but once they didn't find what they were lookin for, liberals jumped the fence like mexicans jumping into texas.
And your "point" had nothing to do with the fact that Cindy Sheehan.. a nobody, has become a soundboard for liberal media workers who can't come out and be blatantly bias.. so they just give all the air time to Sheehan to hammer home their point.

It's hard to believe that considering 2/3 of Americans were for the war when it began. Hell, I was for the war when it first started because I was a dumbass 15 year old who didn't know jack about anything.
I think people just have a hard time admitting they were wrong.

My mother was definitely against it from the beginning, as she's just about the most liberal person there is and quite the pacifist. My dad and step-mom were for the war in the beginning and now are still of the opinion that we should stick it out. I was against the war in the beginning but now I think we should stay, and my boyfriend is the same way, as are his parents. They are staunch Democrats and didn't like the idea of the war, but like me they think that now that we're there we have an obligation to the Iraqi people. Umm most of my friends are liberal college students who either don't care about politics at all or hate anything that Bush does (including the war). I'm pretty sure my brother is still against the war, and I know he was in the beginning since he pretty much just listened to what my mom said (he was like 11 at the time).
So honestly I don't really think I know that many people who think we should get out of Iraq, but the few that I do know have always thought it was a bad idea. That makes sense, because I would definitely classify them all as being in the most liberal third of the population, who presumably made up most of the people who were against the war in the first place.

I was against the war even when I was a dumbass 14 year old. Then again, I was something of a liberal ideologue, but still.
I've also been calling to leave ever since we went in. The role of the military has been completed, for better or for worse; only the Iraqis can help themselves now. The idea that we should stay is complete garbage; the U.S. military has nothing more to do there. It's time to let Iraq have their own government again, and get the fuck out.
