It was a real shock. I thought he was indestructible! (The only thing wrong with him was he never raced at the 500, but heard he wanted to in 1992.)
He was a great one, but I love Jim Clark best. To me, he's the epitome of classy, dashing driver.

I am gearing up for the Month of May!!!!!

I'm dreading it. Both sons have b-days, so there goes all my "fun money" and then the city decides that race time is the best time to start tearing up the roads! Bastards. Plus, I have to work race day. I hate that!!

Let's just hope we don't have a repeat of a couple of years ago when the race was affected by tornadoes. The race party I was at came to a grinding halt when the tent blew down. Twisters....always a buzz kill.

I don't recall Ford ever recommending the SHO as a service vehicle. It didn't offer an automatic until 1993, was FWD, and had some engine failure troubles on the Yamaha V6 they used.

Racism is the differentiating between races based on the belief that one is superior to the other. The fact is that the word has taken on a new meaning culturally, which I think is a good thing. The fact that we can take a derogatory word and gradually change its meaning to something that is not inherently insulting is not, as you seem to believe, a sign that the world is ending.

Let me correct myself... I haven't seen it happen in a black neighborhood, as I mistakenly implied. I have, however, seen white people use the word "nigga" (in the same way a black person would use it) around groups of black people without getting any kind of reaction at all.

I've called and been called that before by some black friends,they laughed it off and all was good.
Would I go walking around East Detroit yelling "N***er"? Hell no! I do like living.
