New York Times To Hillary: Give Up And Let Us Crown Obama Already (http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/new_york_times_to_hillary_give_up_and_let_us_crown _obama_already/)

The editorial board at the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/23/opinion/23wed1.html?_r=1&oref=slogin) is clearly tired of the Democrat primary race and all the in-fighting it is creating. Clearly, they’re anxious to get back to a “us liberals” vs. “them conservatives” situation.
The Pennsylvania campaign, which produced yet another inconclusive result on Tuesday, was even meaner, more vacuous, more desperate, and more filled with pandering than the mean, vacuous, desperate, pander-filled contests that preceded it.
Voters are getting tired of it; it is demeaning the political process; and it does not work. It is past time for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to acknowledge that the negativity, for which she is mostly responsible, does nothing but harm to her, her opponent, her party and the 2008 election.
I’d tend to disagree that voters are getting tired of the race. I think the more likely scenario is that liberal newspaper editors are getting worried that this extended primary battle is going to hurt the Democrats in the upcoming election. But even if it does hurt them, who cares? An extended primary gives voters a longer than usual amount of time to examine the candidates, and given the sort of soft-light coverage the Democrats usually get from the media the spotlight being on Hillary and Obama longer is particularly useful this time around

I’d tend to disagree that voters are getting tired of the race.

It depends on whom the voters support.

I think the more likely scenario is that liberal newspaper editors are getting worried that this extended primary battle is going to hurt the Democrats in the upcoming election.

Well, duh. Pretty much all democrats are worried about that.

But even if it does hurt them, who cares? An extended primary gives voters a longer than usual amount of time to examine the candidates, and given the sort of soft-light coverage the Democrats usually get from the media the spotlight being on Hillary and Obama longer is particularly useful this time around.

As if people don't already know who they're voting for.

True, but it sure shows respect.

Shrug, I was taught that you put your hand over your heart for the pledge and you simply stand for the anthem.

Well i'm sure that we were taught different things. And it is true that people dont put up their hand during the anthem. I do belive that this pic was to make obama look bad.

If one is running for president, it's usually a good idea to go above & beyond to show what a patriotic American one is... especially if one has no history of being a patriot. Obviously, Obama doesn't share that belief in traditions and thinks he can get elected whether or not he thumbs his nose at this country. Just as obviously, there are alot of morons around who'll support him no matter what he does... because it would just be too cool to have a black man in the white house.

Which brings up an interesting question... wonder if the NY Times would consider hiring Obama as their CEO if he doesn't win his bid for president?

Nahhhh, probably not. He doesn't really have any business experience.

The sad fact IS,that many if not a majority of the Leftist Democrat
base is very much Anti-American.They actually feel it corny to
wear a flag lapel pin, recite the national anthem with hand on heart.
Take Michael Moore and Bill Maher.THEY are the Nazis.
They are the ones who wouldn't get within a 100 miles of a Military base.
They are the ones who'll never own a gun or played sports.
They are the ones who LOVE Propaganda.
Love to mock God,Patriotism and belittle Trade workers like
blue-collar workers.
The Bama, leftists and a new sort of American Elitist Nazism is
taking over with their Socialism and propaganda.
Ben Stein's new movie also looks at what David Horowitz has been
writing about and Visiting those colleges that will allow his appraisal
to address. That our Universities are chock full of little Ward Churchills.
Just out and out,Leftist Prof's,who are undermining, manipulating and
brainwashing young impressionable kids,to a life of Elitism.
Nebulous assurances of future cooperations.
Just like The Bama HAD.

Every year it is the same thing. Candidates pledge to run a honorable campaign, then the first negative ad comes out and all bets are off. They justify it by claiming to be defending themselves. It never changes. Probably been like this since Adams ran against Jefferson.

Cute, Frannie. You always go to such great lengths to find anti-American garbage to make your point.

I don't wear a pin... but then again, I don't wear suits. However, I do have two American flags over my nameplate outside my cube. And I'm not even running for president!

Its strange that a candidate is judged on 'how patriotic they are'.

Its a bit arrogant for anyone to say they're more patriotic than someone else.

I don't think so - if you're going to run the country, you better really like it. Of course measuring patriotism by the number of flag pins on your suit and yellow ribbons on your car is retarded.

My friends and co-workers have flags as well. Hate to break this to you, dear... but YOU are the minority where this issue is concerned. There are many more flag-waving Americans than there are bitter little anti-American women who choose to live in the boonies.

Hate to break this to you, sweetheart, but as usual, you haven't the slightest idea what you're going on about. (Yes, I know; it's never stopped you before.)

The truth is, I love this country and am not remotely "anti-American" at all. What I am is anti-fucked-up government/leaders, like the Bush Crime Family that you're so enamoured of. Still, I know it feeds your crusty, shriveled little soul to make up completely unfounded stuff about people who aren't dazzled by your brilliant wit, so I can sort of understand why you do it so often...

Bless your heart. :)

OMG! What's that I see there? Some American flag-waving bastard put a fuckin' flag on my front porch!

I have some shirts with American flags on them. Two I think. They're both Harley shirts... I'm kinda redneck-y sometimes :p

EDIT: I also have a Chevelle jacket with red, white, and blue lettering with the Chevy symbol that says "Chevelle: Heartbeat of America". :D

Good try, Frannie... but I do agree to one point when it comes to patriotism. Actions speak so much louder than flags. I'd still call you anti-American if you posted a picture of yourself dressed up like Betsy Ross.

FYI, in case you haven't noticed, Bush's term is nearly over. Your deep hatred for the man and his administration is duly noted and done to death. You should really try to dig free of the past and consider the future. Just think... in a few months, you'll have someone new in the white house to HATE.

Tell me... were you always this bitter or is this a new thing you developed after that conservative mate of 11 years left you?

Well, of course. You call everyone "anti-American" (or BIGOT! or similar) if they don't toe your twisted line of conservative thinking.

I was simply pointing out (and you missed it entirely; no surprise) that

wearing a lapel flag pin doesn't mean much of anything in the grand scheme of things (even though you and several other of our hardest-core rightwingers went on and on and freakin' ON about how EEEVIL Obama is because he didn't wear one); and

you go out of your way to brag about your own flag-waving as evidence of your unquestionable patriotism, but when someone you disagree with politically (one of those EEEVIL anti-American liburalllls) also waves a flag, it suddenly doesn't count anymore.

Could you explain how exactly that works in your own mind? Because it simply doesn't follow here on planet Earth.

FYI, in case you haven't noticed, Bush's term is nearly over.

FYI, in case you haven't noticed, Mr. Bush is currently the president of the United States, has been for the last 7+ years, and will be for another nine months. From the beginning of his first term and every day since, Mr. Bush has lied to and manipulated the American people and the citizens of the world, to the detriment of all. To put it bluntly, Mr. Bush has pissed in the cream, and yes, I'm outraged. The damage he's done both here and abroad will take decades, possibly centuries to repair.

The fact that you think his disastrous leadership of this country should be excused, and that Bush should be patted on the head and left blameless, says volumes about your incredibly partisan view of the world.

P.S. Nice mobile home.

More gratuitous insults.

Do you ever stop to realize how very hard you work to insult so many people based on so little information for so little gain? Do you not realize that you hurt yourself far more than you do others with your constant petty digs?

P.S. BZZZT! Not a mobile home. Not a trailer. Not a modular home. Thanks for playing.
