Uranium Cycle an effort designed to collect thoughts, facts and other data from members of the public on uranium mining.

The stakes had been placed there by Frontenac Ventures Corporation - a company exploring for uranium, with the intention of establishing an eventual mine at a site near Clarendon Station, Ontario.
The company believed the area could "prove to be among the best Uranium deposits in Canada."
Frontenac Ventures had purchased the mineral rights to 5,000 hectares of land - including the ground beneath a couple's property -

Soon enough, a lot of people were upset about the plan to explore for uranium - including the Ardoch Algonquin and Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nations communities, both of whom lived in the area.

Lengthy protests took place in the months that followed, involving aboriginal and non-aboriginal protesters, all of whom were opposed to having a uranium mine.
A politician, a physician and a mathematician were among the first dozen to have their say, as well as an anti-uranium advocate from North Bay and a representative from the David Suzuki foundation.

Gordon Edwards, president of the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility, drove all the way from Montreal just to make a 10-minute presentation.
He spoke about the toxic byproducts that result in the natural decay of uranium - and the way those byproducts can make their way into the local environment.
Mr. Edwards told the audience it was time for those opposed to uranium mining to start "dumping (the issue) in the laps of our decision-makers and our press and our public."
Does Canada need the Uranium; then who?
