my father died. I was also born on his 30th Birthday. I am exactly the same age today as when he died. I'm having a hard time dealing with this. All kind of things are rushing through my mind. Makes one think hard about things.

Good morning! Love you guys :grouphug:

'mornin, HF. I know how you feel. My dad died fairly young and I remember the year I turned the age he was when he passed away. Makes you feel kinda strange, doesn't it? Even more bizarre... thinking about my mom at various ages as I grow older. She married my stepdad when she was 50. I remember thinking at the time, "wonder why? They're so old, who would get married at that age?" (he's 11 years younger than her, meaning he was only 39 then!) Anyway, they were married for nearly 40 years before she died at age 89. Now he's 81 and the apple of my eye... mainly because he always treated my mother (and me) like a princess.

Ahhhh, life. Nobody ever said it was easy, did they?

I'll bet all kinds of things are running through your head. Lots of pre-event anxiety, hopefully you'll have a nice dull day otherwise that will help to settle your nerves some.

Thanks SWM and es347fan. I feel much better now. It's just kinda hard to function at work. I'll be better after I leave the cemetery this afternoon.

Have a great weekend!!

Horsefly,

My father died when he was only 57 and I can still remember how I felt when I turned 57. It was an eerie, kind of scarey birthday thinking that from that point on I would be older than my father ever was.

That was eight years ago and I don't think about it so much now. You'll get past this too.

(((HUGZ))))

To all of you who have lost a parent. I've never experienced it and wished I never had to.

Thanks to you all :grouphug:

I feel much better today. I didn't get to go to the cemetery yesterday. I started raining cats and dogs as soon as I got off work. Today is nice and sunny, 77, so I'll go today. Thanks to all of you, my friends :flowers:
