I moved to Portland, Oregon about 2 years ago and learned it was a great city for biking. Since then I have given up the use of my two feet and bus pass, for 2 wheels and a bus pass (you can take bikes on the bus!)
Anyone else go strickly by bicycle, or just use some of their traveling by bike? I know living conditions don't always make it worthwhile, but a number of cities are adapting becoming more bike friendly.

I'd actually really enjoy commuting by bike, but I have to commute up a two-lane highway with a 55mph speed limit. It makes sense in a city like Portland where the sprawl is strictly controlled and they make an effort at creating bike lanes. The only real problem would be smelling bad upon arrival and having helmet hair.

living in smalltown, USA (like me) has great advantages. you know just about everyone in town, you can walk from here to there with little or no problem at all. Biking is perfect in my area. Only downside is everyone complaining that there's nothing to do...which I do that too on occasion.

Helmet head isn't so bad, usually the rain takes care of that. It's the hills can be a little much sometimes. Big hills, though not as bad as some places I have seen (thinking of Seattle and San Fran).

I've seen some of the latest men's and women's styles out on the street, and I would agree that the term should be...
Hell met hair...
Nice phraseology, Lionel!
