Not to sure what peoples reactions are to the new game. So I'm adding a few new videos.

Another video, kind of explaining the different characters of Battlefield Heroes that you can choose.
Although I don't think this is from the same game, it does give an idea of game play.

This guy explains exactly what the game is.

This game has grabbed my attention because it seems to be a completely free MMO based on modern battle tactics with the use of guns and tanks.
With players only paying for extras as they play and not anything required to play the game.
It's also grabbed my attention because what is being described in the game play sounds completely new.
They're basically combining elements of PC gaming that have never been put together before in the same game.
If it's done correctly it'll be a really great game and pretty revolutionary in the world of MMO's.

It will certainly open new avenue's for games like World of Warcraft, EverQuest, DDO and so on.

If it's done incorrectly, it'll be forgotten in a year or so.

But, my expectations aren't expecting any disappointment.

If the graphics seem to cartoonish for you, thats because it's a FREE game. Can't have everything.

You mean like people sitting on the wings of planes?

You're Welcome :)

You mean like people sitting on the wings of planes?

That does look cool, with the plane.

I basically gave a run down of the whole MMO experience, if you want to skip it and just get an answer go to the bottom of the post and read the bold area.

The people who made EverQuest made a first person shooter that allowed you to level up. You could gain skills in guns, bombs, tech, anything basically.
It was a pay to play MMO set in the future and it bombed bigtime.

So far MMO's have had one quality that set them apart. Generally they're set in a mid evil time with characters having the ability to use magic, swing swords and rescue the planet from evil. Each one with total raid ability. where 30 people (some games reaching 80) ban together and kill a ultra powerful villain with gear and items that blow away anything else you can get in the game.
Generally speaking, it's what holds many an MMO together. With out the raid ability and the ultra cool gear MMO's have been known to fail.

The first person shooter that EverQuest developed failed because it was person against person in the raid ability factor. No super powerful monster that takes 30 or more people to kill. Just other people.
You still leveled up and gained skills, each person valuable according to their own skills. But that didn't seem to matter. The gear is of the utmost importance to the player.

Then EA came out with Medal of Honor, the first game that relied on the skill of the player and only the skill of the player.
No one player had an advantage of owning items other player's couldn't because of time restraints, or whatever. There were no Uber cool people with gear you wished you had so you could do what that person does.
However, the skill factor still came into play because obviously you have people who can spend more time playing then others. Still it didn't matter.

Five years later, after the first Medal of Honor game was released, the original is still going strong and still being played very heavily online.

These two elements have never been able to be introduced together in a game successfully before.
No one game has every relied solely on the players skill and given players the opportunity to advance in class skills as well as levels.
And been successful that is.

Where as the standard MMO has people grouping together to level up and raise their characters skills. Medal of honor simply gave you a gun and let you go to town, no leveling, no skills, no gear.
This game provides both.
