Just walking my dog and hell breaks loose.

I could see a man unpacking his car from and bringing the contents into a home. As I and my dog got closer to his walkway a young child went inside the home looking worried about my dog. Then he comes out if front of me and my dog where I didn't have time to shorten the leash up. Then my dog (pug) thought to take a smell in his direction but ended up he got the soul of the man shoe in his face.

There was no call for that and I told him he was insulting me.

Who replied “keep your dog on a leash” Howard was on a leash and my dog was very close to me so I didn't really need to shorten it either.

(I have already forget what I called him as I walked away.)

So Its not finished yet as I completed the walk he drives past and stares at me who I confronted again and said “Say something or fuck-off” He stops his car and says “what” So I repeated it and said your now harassing me what is your explanation. It wasn't until I told him that he could go to jail for kicking my dog in the face that he back off.

This is a neighbor and a Muslim whose social net has brought guns, grenades, and gangs to our neighborhood.

I would wish these people on my enemies.

The fact that he is Muslim might help explain his antipathy toward and anger at you and your dog. In the Muslim religion dogs are considered unclean. Most Muslims do not keep dogs as pets and view the only worthwhile dogs to be working dogs, ie guard dogs, shepherding dogs, etc..

My dog would be carrying a gun on our next outing.

(J/K... don't even actually own a gun. However, with a neighbor like his, I might decide to invest in one!)

Story reminds me of some new neighbors who moved into my 'hood a few years back. Bunch of (black) fireman leased a nice big house on the corner and they were all sitting around outside their garage one evening when me and my honey rounded the corner heading home after a walk with our dog. As we started around the curve, we could hear them, but they couldn't see us... and we distinctly heard them referring to WHITEY. About 5 steps later, we were at the end of their driveway and you wanna talk about a bunch of guys stammering and falling all over themselves trying to be polite when they saw us... it was funny! We became pretty good friends with those guys and when our mama dog had a litter of puppies, I was able to give most of them to those firemen's children who came for 'visitation' with their daddies every weekend! Really hated it when they moved away.

Some people are just terrified of dogs--even little, gentle dogs.
Maybe that'd explain the guy's reaction.

Well I hope its the last the guy tries that on such a little animal and understood there could be consequences. I doubt it though and don't know really how to deal with these violent types. Last year the gang that lives here nailed a guy front door shut after starting a fire in his living room and kitchen. There still in jail and lately I told a reporter I havn't herd any gun fire since theyv'e been arrested a year ago and bang, gun fire the next day.

Sorry to hear this happened. People can and are assholes, some are just better left ignored.
You did right telling this man that he could get in trouble for kicking your dog. Maybe not major trouble, but enough to make him think twice before doing to any animal again.

How is your dog?

Thanks for asking about how the dog is.

Howard was different last night and was sensing danger and kept woofing at me until I took him on a reconnaissance. then things got better. He kept thinking someone was outside and he's never done that before.

(I was also nervous to take my dog out.)

PS: Nice dog Mike.

but it is a st. bernard. they'd lick someone to death. like my dog riley. he's part border collie, part springer spaniel. he wouldn't bark to let us know someone is on the porch and too polite to let us know the house is on fire. but our 5 month old part feist, pitbull, doberman, boxer is different. he'll let us know if the neighbor twitches. so far, still a nice dog.
i think the jewish laws which influence islam find anything with paws unclean. as well as pigs.

Anybody who's afraid of a PUG must have a few screws loose somewhere. I doubt that in the history of the world, there's ever been a PUG accused of mauling anyone to death.

Maybe CR could borrow a Doberman or German Shepard for his next walk around the block? (No pits, please. He might lose a leg trying to make a point!)

The smaller the dog, the more likely they are to bite you. Or so it seems.

The smaller the dog, the more likely your foot will be successful in launching it into next week, too. I promise you'll never read about me being eaten alive by a fox terrier.

Glad to hear he is o.k other than being a bit scared. Can't say I blame him though. Maybe until both of you are secure enough to take that route again, try a different route on your walks.

If that don't work you can borrow my boy Titan....he's a Boxer/German Shepard mix and he almost jumped through the leaded glass panes in my back door a few weeks ago cause some idiot thought it would be funny to mess with the door handle.
