You know, don't you dharma, that the B*sh worshipers are going to be made insanely angry by this thread..........?
Spreading the facts and figures about the war enrages them to no end.
They prefer to keep all the death and destruction swept neatly under the rug.

What, that 4000 American Soldiers have died in Iraq? Pretty sure that's a very well known number to all.

I check this website (http://www.armyaircrews.com/)every now and then, to see if it is one of my old aviator comrades, students, or team-mates who have shook off this mortal coil.
Rest In Peace, WO1 Larry Tuttle, CW2 Scotty Eusen, CPT Thomas Correia, DAC Harold Legrand, Doc Halliday, CW4 Chuck Soffe, CW2 Greg Montgomery, CW4 George Perry, CW5 Sharon Swartworth, CW3 Cory Goodnature, CW3 Pat Dorff.

Were any of them KIA in Iraq or Afghanistan? Just curious.

CW5 Sharon Swartworth, killed near Tikrit, Iraq in 2003.
She was on her last trip over to theater prior to (this was the plan, anyway) retiring and settling down on Oahu with her Navy husband and her young son.
The Blackhawk that she and her team were traveling in got shot down, and the entire crew perished. She was a good gal, and we all miss her.
CW3 Corey Goodnature died in June of 2005, in eastern Afghanistan, when his MH-47D Helicopter was shot down by enemy fire during combat operations. Cory used to drop by my house on the North Shore after we'd all been out surfing, back in the day, and we would enjoy a beer or two. One of the best fellows you'd ever want to meet.
CW3 Patrick Dorff's helicopter went down in the Tigris River in Iraq during a search & rescue mission, after four soldiers' watercraft capsized. His Kiowa Warrior helicopter struck power lines strung across the river, and he and his copilot were killed instantly. This was in January 2004. His remains were recovered four days later. Pat was well liked by all.
