Regardless of whether you love the war against Iraq and Afghanistan or hate it, you have to credit the USA/coalition efforts for this side victory. This would have never happened otherwise.

Muammar Gaddafi hasn't been heard from much in years now. With the recent acknowledgement of involvement and financial settlement in the Pan Am bombing coupled with this latest development, it appears that the Lybian nation is trying to distance itself from its' neighbors. Hopefully others will follow suit.

"Libya's stunning decision yesterday to surrender its weapons of mass destruction followed two decades of international isolation and some of the world's most punishing economic sanctions. In the end, Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi was under so much pressure that he was forced to seek an end to the economic and political isolation threatening his government -- and his own survival, according to U.S. and British officials and outside experts."

"Ironically, Libya may not have had large quantities of weapons of mass destruction by the time the deal was struck with the United States and Britain.

"Libya's program did not have a sophisticated enough infrastructure for a very viable program, and they haven't had it for years," Takeyh said.

So you think Libya and Iran came around because they didn't feel any pressure from the threat of military action?? Because Col. Kaddaffi said so?

Mr. Shaman,

Are you so naive to think that this happened out of the goodness of Mr. Kaddaffi's heart? Because he is a peace loving dictator?

WAKE UP. You have said some stupid stuff before, but this takes the cake.

"Evidence discovered in a probe of Iran's secret nuclear program points overwhelmingly to Pakistan as the source of crucial technology that put Iran on a fast track toward becoming a nuclear weapons power, according to U.S. and European officials familiar with the investigation."

What ever the reason I am glad to see an Arab country seeking to communicate. Hope Iran will follow suit.
These countries may have learned from our previous politicians. Promise to conform, appear to operate in the best interest of all, tell everyone what they wish to hear then later do as you please when the heat is off.
