Does anyone have any idea if there are any legit time travel studies or work going on? Has man just given up on the idea as a fantasy, or are there some serious scientists out there who think it may be possible? I think that one day, man will figure out how to travel in time. It may be 1,000 years from now but it will happen. But then again, if they do figure it out in the future wouldn't they have already visited us? Of course if someone came up to us and said they were from the future we would never believe them.

Time travel is very confusing to think about. You could just sit there and think aobut it forever and just get more and more confused, sort of like trying to think about infinity.

No developments. Time travel is still bunkum, fodder for bad science fiction.
If time travel were real, where are all the time tourists?

If we believe that there will be time travel in the future, we ask "where are all the time travelers from the future?". Well, the reason we don't see the travelers from the future is because we haven't invented the time travel "machine" yet. Theoretically speaking, I would think that you can only go back in time only up to the time when the "machine" was invented.
Let's say we invent the machine in 2010. So people in say 2045 or 2132 would only be able to "go back" to the earliest time of 2010.
This is of course assuming that time travel is possible or discoverable.

that may be if you build a time machine that you actually have to sit in. If you made one that was like some wrist mounted worm hole control device or something you could probably go back as far as you wanted to since there would be no physical device that you had to sit in that was a time "machine". Theultimate would be the time machine from Back to the Future though since it is a mobile time machine you would ahve transportation wherever you went.

In Einstein's general theory of relativity, both matter and energy can create a gravitational field. This means that the energy of a light beam can produce a gravitational field. My current research considers both the weak and strong gravitational fields produced by a single continuously circulating unidirectional beam of light. In the weak gravitational field of a unidirectional ring laser, it is predicted that a spinning neutral particle, when placed in the ring, is dragged around by the resulting gravitational field. [R. L. Mallett, "Weak gravitational field of the electromagnetic radiation in a ring laser"
For the strong gravitational field of a circulating cylinder of light, I have found new exact solutions of the Einstein field equations for the exterior and interior gravitational fields of the light cylinder. The exterior gravitational field is shown to contain closed timelike lines.
The presence of closed timelike lines indicates the possibility of time travel into the past. This creates the foundation for a time machine based on a circulating cylinder of light. [R. L. Mallett, "The gravitational field of a circulating light beam

Yeah.
I saw the guy on the History Channels show, "The Universe"
Cool stuff.
They said what Mex said, which made me think to put a link to the guy and his work.

Robert Mallet said, we wouldn't be able to go any further back in time then when the time machine itself was first turned on. It would also have to be left on.
Say we leave it on for a 100 years, people a hundred years in the future could pay us a visit.
I bet you if time travel is possible, the moment Robert Mallet turns on his device we're going to get a visitor.
A lot like this light bulb thats been on since 1901.

No, because we haven't invented the time machine yet. You can only go back in time as far back as when the time machine was invented.

It depends on how you view time.
If time is relevant as one continuum, than any time traveler that came back to see us, and made any changes, would not be noticed. Anything they did would instantly change our reality without us knowing, because it would be impossible for use to know.
If time is a wave, as I proposed in the other thread. We would have perhaps seen a time-traveler before. There are "nuts" out there who claim to be from the future... maybe they aren't lying LOL. OR, maybe in the future, once the technology is achieved, it is banned in order to preserve human rights. Any change would violate somebodies life with consequences, positive or negative.

actual time travel is impossible.
but to leap and touch it temporarily is possible.
many "primitive" cultures say that time is a spiral that continues outward. it is possible to touch a time period through the mind and spirit.
when focused by someone who is REAL good at it, you can touch another time period in the past, but not the future(because it hasn't happened yet, and the possiblities of the future are far too many- by our reality, for all we know, it has and we are nothing more than the remains of a recording in time), in "dreamtime" or spirit travel.
but it takes incredible focus.
and all people are part of a pool of consciousness. we touch this when we sleep and dream. and it is possible to touch someone else in it.
thus by accident, we have deja vu.
and with that, the possibilities are limitless of what you can do, with focus.
but you HAVE to discard guilt, blame, and shame, and accept the consequences of your actions since all action has a reaction.

oh, you'd be surprised-some of our rural areas are pretty darn rural! but it's good you're comfy with where you are. too many ppl aren't and they just make themselves miserable thinking about how they wish they were somewhere else.

It was one scary place all the homes in my neighbor hood had there front doors wide open and looked kick-in, bed sheets thrown outside on trees, and car doors and the trunk left open. It started by finding myself in a truck sitting in the middle when I heard about the last bomb to detonate from a high rise on the radio. As I was dropped off I heard gun fire and saw the truck I was riding in rolling in a ball park.
My Somalian neighbor was outside when I was dropped off and after not finding my family inside my home told me everyone has been taken downtown including my family in trucks. I was to go in that direction along the Queensway to down town and would be picked up and not to take the river path plus not to take the river path was repeated.
Before that
I touch the twin towers ass well and was in a vision and saw the date and collapse of the twin towers. This voice happened and said get your hands off the building. After discovering I was Canadian I was let go. Then a bomb went off in the garage of the twin towers and I stopped thinking about it.
Hey and I'm just as sane as the next guy.
