i know you guys are going to think i'm crazy and probably high for posting this but here goes...
remember when we were all little kids and those of us with christian upbringings all believed in santa claus? at least until we realized that there is no santa claus and our parents were just playin with us. if you speak to any teen or adult you'd be pretty hard pressed to find one who still believes in santa. yet the majority of us still believe in god. one might think that after realizing that santa doesn't exist, god would be the logical next step...

"Well. Im finally done with the final exams and I thought: What could be better to kick off the holiday season than with a wonderfull theory such as this one?
Why Santa = Satan:
* It dresses in blood red.
* It is immortal, as far as we know.
* It only appears at night, flying through the air with horned beasts at Its command.
* It uses some unknown sorcery to infiltrate billions of homes in one night.
* It is not afraid of fire or heat (in chimneys, for instance) or cold for that matter.
* It has beady, coal-black eyes (all pupil, maybe, or perhaps insect-like).
* Its bloated midsection wiggles like gelatin (an undead substance made of decaying animal parts).
* It is sometimes called "Old Nick" (which pretends to refer to St. Nicholas, but is really a nickname [ETP] of the Devil).
* Its name is an anagram of Satan Lucas, which sounds very sinister to me ("the Light of Satan"?).
* It spreads Its message of greed and gluttony on the very eve of the celebration of Christ's birth.
* Indeed, many children believe in Satan Lucas many years before ever learning of the "true meaning of Christmas", and even then the "true meaning" is largely ignored, and the evil rites are passed on to another generation.
* There is a song about It which begins, "you'd better watch out..."
* Its minions, an elaborate network of spying adults, keep tabs on your behavior throughout the year, and postal services of the world dutifully deliver reports to It.
In short, Santa Claus is an evil conniving demigod, who has become powerful enough to control the economy, tempt people to do very wicked actions (all cloaked in "holiday spirit"), and battle jesus for control of his own birthday. The cult of Satan Lucas is growing rapidly. Children are being programmed to be evil minions when they become adults. Ritual sacrifices of innocent milk and cookies are offered up to Its obesity. Depression, crime, and suicides increase during the Christmas hellidays, and no wonder... " - El Brujo, che-lives.com

the comparision between Santa and satan is actually pretty cool - i'd never even thought of that - but how true!
Most stuff, christian festivals like easter & christmas etc - all tie in to some pagan festival
Santa even sounds like satan

Blib you crack me up with your indepth bull :D
Sputnik There was a Saint Nicholos(Christian bishop) and back in the 200's AD he did go around and give gifts to children at night. There are also stories of an Old Man Winter (Finland) he was said to have come from the cold area and give children gifts this is were Saint N. could have got the idea, anyones quess. So actually there was a Santa in away(spirit). So did a guy exist that gave presents yes, did he have a sled with deer that fly no. In away Santa was a real being, so in spirit Santa is real.

actually, the red clothes, fat man, flying with horned beasts santa is a product of the advertising communites of the early 1900s... so, in a way, yes, santa was created by satan...
if i remember my history lessons right, many of the pre-modern concepts of santa were actually very tall, thin men (not unlike jack in "the nightmare before x-mas", except without the sewn up head. btw, TNBC is oneof the best x-mas movies ever).

yes i am aware of the fact that a guy named saint nicholas was a real person and he did go around giving presents to little kids. but is there actually a santa claus who comes down the chimney at night and gives you presents? no. saint nicholas died a long time ago. so yes santa did exist once, but not anymore.

I was just pointing out that there was a person at one time that thought of others. I still can not figure how some folks can but santa and a horned killer in the same catagory. That is like saying God and the devil are the same.

c'mon guys, santa is for the kids. the whole reason behind there being a santa (other than marketing) is so kids can learn about charity. i guy who goes around giving presents to everyone? it's how parents get their kids to want to give presents instead of just recieve.
 You mean there's no Santa either...!!!
First you try and tell me there's no god..now this..what is the forum coming too....:p

Exactly. :D
No, really, it's a time to come together with your family and celebrate. It's not a religious holiday at all anymore, except for those who specifically want it to be. After all, Xmas originated as a Pagan holiday and was "Christianized" by the Catholic Church at the time in order to convert more Pagans to Christianity.

there's a christmas party at my house today. however, everyone attending will be jewish, except for two people. of those two people, one is buddhist and the other is 6 years old. and i'm not sure how many of the attendees actually believe in god.

Alyssa, I don't get why God would be the next logical step.

if you were taught to believe at an early age in both god and santa claus by your parents, and it turns out they were not telling you the truth about santa.....then why should they be telling you the truth about god? it makes sense that one would be dissilusioned after they find out that there's no santa, and they would be come an atheist. but this hardly ever happened. happened with alex riina though. that's why i started thinking about it.

Santa is a fabrication to begin with in a holiday that is not Christian at all. The fact that Christ's birth was not Dec. 25 proves the latter.
Therefore, since the holiday of Christmas is basically MAINSTREAM Christianity's way of celebrating a Roman/Persian/Babylonian fesival that marks the achievements of a man named Nimrod, Santa is subsidiary to that cult mentality. So I don't see how Santa is connected with God.
Blibblob makes an excellent and true point. Just tell your kids that Santa is the devil and they'll understand.
