A doomsday foretold in the Mayan Calender, Revelations, predicts from a few other sources which all line up, the end of the world due to catastrophic events.

I personally do not believe in it, only with the probability of the earth's magnetic field 'flipping', or vearing off course to create problems here on earth.

Many of which I believe are happening now, not because of man made global warming, but the forces of nature at play..

but not when we've been this dependent on electronics. solar flares have knocked out power before. the next peak in solar activity is suppose to be in 2012 as i recall. if it happens when the field is even weakened, we could see a return to a medieval lifestyle.

Mike is exactly right, we would lose most if not all our communications.

Also add in the mix a Galactic Alignment of the earth with the Milky Way, and who knows...?

Stories of the impending Doomsday have been around forever. The Mayan prophesies were discussed on a History Channel program rather recently. It's like the weather - not a goddamn thing we can do about it, but sure as hell going to talk about it.
