In the year 2000 the company (Mars) changed the recipe of M&Ms to using SKIM MILK,MILKFAT and they are disgusting!!!!! (It used to be regular milk with NO milkfat for 20yrs or more)
I havent eaten them in 5 yrs or so and have a quest going on to try and get the company to change the recipe back to pre-2000 standards!!!!!!!
Have you noticed a change in the way they taste, you dont really like them anymore??? Well, this is why........
Im going crazy trying to get the company to change it back to the original (I DONT KNOW WHY THESE STUPID COMPANIES MESS WITH SUCCESS)
Please Click here (http://tinyurl.com/dnnmm) and send the company feedback about how you DO NOT LIKE THE NEW RECIPES (With skim milk, milkfat) and you want the older kind before 2000 back!!!!! (With reg. milk and NO milkfat)
PLEASE TRY AND HELP ME IN MY QUEST FOR GOOD CANDY COMING BACK......(The more people who send them email the better chance we have)
Thank you & God Bless you all :)

Hey The Dude! I see you around at WHT, welcome. Anyways I'm on the atkins diet so I can't eat m&ms lol but sorry to hear they ruined it for you.. I'm sure they're just trying to make the most money however they can, so if the new forumla sells they probably will keep it :(..

Hello JWB!!!
Yes,i admit it,im a WHTer (hehehehe) And i have this posted there as well......
Always check the ingredients if sometihng doesnt taste right 99% of the time, something has been changed....
I got a repsonse back from mars saying "We are reviewing our marketing procedure, that product is not available now"
That doesnt mean anything, they said that LAST YEAR also!!
The Dude
If the biggest issue in your life is the change between whole milk and skim milk in M&M's, I envy you.

Well i tell you,i am desperate for some good M&Ms.....
The difference between regular milk and skim milk (As far as taste) is remarkable!!!
Those of us that LOVE our chocolate, know what im referring to!

I think petitioning the food industry and making certain demands in the products they sell is something worth taking the time to do. When enough people speak they listen.
I actually used to like M&M's. They're still not bad for a cheap candy although I try to avoid wasting calories on anything but cottage chocolate. Hershey kisses on the other hand now have the slightly vague taste of puke. I'm not kidding. Their kisses are waxy and pukey.
I would rather pay far more money and have something that actually tastes milky. But good on you Dude for taking a stand and trying to make a change!!!

Doesn't matter, keep at 'em...these things take time... in the mean time, tell 'em you're switching to Smarties...maybe they'll send you some free ones and some of their new product if you take the time to actually snail mail them with a return address. Seriously!

I never eat Hershey's chocolate anymore, or M&M's...they taste acidic. I'm a dark chocolate fan...and anything european *drool*. Kinda sad, considering that chocolate is native to the US.

Soya lecithin and soy lecithin aren't the same thing?

Update: Soya is the British term for soy, according to my dictionary widget.

I prefer European chocolate bars or candies...like Milka, or Lindt.
I generally eat what I'm given and don't complain. I can enjoy Hershey's or M&Ms chocolate, but chocolate from Europe usually has a richer or sweeter taste.

Thank the government and the price support it gives to the sugar industry. It's driven up the price of sugar so much that most heavy sugar users (like the soft drink industry) have switched to high fructose corn syrup or just moved manufacturing elsewhere.

Dude, maybe you should contact someone at Ethel M's chocolate company. Not sure where their HDQ is, but they market out West (i.e., Vegas). You might get a rise out of somebody since I understand Ms. Ethel is a member of the Mars family who branched off on her own due to her dissatisfaction with the way 'things' were being done at Mars. Bet she'd love to hear from a disgruntled M&M customer!
Good luck!

Dude, you are full of shit. Lecithin is added to commercial food to keep it from separating. It doesn't impact the taste. If you ever thought Hershey bars tasted good, you not only are full of shit, but have no taste as well.

According to the dictionary, soy and soya mean the same thing.

The only decent product Hershey makes is their dark chocolate syrup. Put that stuff in milk, and use a small hand blender to mix it up, and you will have a drink worth drinking. Toss some Baileys Irish Cream into that, and you have a recipe for getting fatter than shortstuff.

Yep, amen to that. But I've been trying skim milk and I find them just fine... And healthier, too! I have chocs every now and then but only crave them on occassion.
Dude, why don't you try other brands, eh? If you don't like 'em anymore, why not switch?

I was doing some searching tonight and i found an ingredients page for SNICKERS (Also made by mars) and the CANADIAN VERSION did not list SKIM MILK!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snickers
I found a page for M&Ms also, but sadly there was NO INGREDIENTS PAGE.....

Do you think in canada they might be made the original way???? (M&Ms)
Anyone from Canada here that could check into this??

I'm pretty sure they used whole milk in Costa Rica. I ate a lot of M&Ms when I lived there, and they seemed extremely good. Then again, I'm pretty sure they were imported, so maybe it was just that they were stale and that made them better. :D

Well im very interested that in canada SNICKERS are still made with REGULAR MILK!!
Im hoping we have someone here that could look into this for me........

Here you go Dude: M&M’s Canadian Ingredients: Milk chocolate (sugar, cocoa mass, milk ingredients cocoa butter, lactose, soy lecithin, salt, artificial flavours, sugar, corn syrup, gum acacia, colour, (contains tartrazine) dextrin, carnauba wax, may contain peanuts.
I also asked various candy sellers. One told me that the US uses more wax in their chocolate than Canada. Canada uses more wax than Britian. So perhaps that is the taste difference you have noticed.

Dude, sorry I threw the wrapper out yesterday after copying the ingredients so I "think" they said milk chocolate. But the chocolate looks kinda dark to me. However I ate them and did not get a migraine which I can get from dark chocolate. They didn't taste too bad actually. If you PM me a mailing address I will send you a couple of the larger size bags, absolutely no problem, my pleasure!
