I don't agree with the womans ski jump being in the Olympics because there is to little completion for the Gold.

Did they decide to let it in? Last I heard it wasn't going to be.

New Democrat MLA Harry Bains, Olympics critic in the B.C. legislature, and his federal counterparts in the Commons will put forward motions calling on both assemblies to include women's ski jumping as a competitive event in 2010.

I don't see why they shouldn't let it in.

I think it would draw a tremendous amount of publicity (and fun) to the winter olympics! I might even tune in and watch it myself!
ermmm.... hmmmm... nm.... I thought it was a women's ski hump event(I knew it sounded to good to be true).

If there aren't enough decent competitors, what's the point?

Well there's more than one, right? Actually I suppose they should have at least three, so someone can win each medal. :)

I'm sure that's coming at some future Olympic games. Yay! Everyone's a winner!

The women's ski jumping hasn't achieved Olympic status because it has just 80 competitors worldwide.

Well that sounds like enough to me... I mean they could narrow it down to the 20 best to put in the Olympics if they wanted to.... That would still be plenty.

theres part of the problem.....how can something not hold a required number of world records if it's not considered an Olympic sporting event? If it were given a chance and be allowed, maybe as a test run in 2010,the "officials" might find more people would try for these world records in order to gain entry into the Olympics.

The Olympics support enough games that barely has any following as is, we don't need more of them. I mean, 80 people worldwide? Some people will represent their country by default!

I bet 75 out of the 80 are Canadian, leaving about 10 of them in the Olympics.
