I'm experiencing sound problems. If this were a standard stereo system, I'd say the record or tape was dragging & hesitating at times.

The computer is a Dell, Pentium 4 @ 2.8GHz, half a gig of memory. Standard issue sound card, and a set of aftermarket speakers with a powered subwoofer. When listening to almost any radio source, like Pandora, or NPR the sound described above occurs. Sometimes the source just freezes up, but other websites are just fine. I've experienced the same when playing some shockwave games. I keep the volume set at a very low level, less than normal speech.

I have checked the firewalls, cleared the cache, have the latest upgrades to java, shockwave & other adobe products. I only have 1 or 2 small programs running at all times.

Any thoughts?

You don't need tech support, you need an exorcist.

That freaking computer is possessed, I tell you!!
:eek:

Did you check your audio drivers? That's the prime culprit in cases like this. Find out who makes your sound card, or chip if it's built into the motherboard, and go to their website and download the latest drivers.

Motherboard, schmotherboard.

Satan's calling the tunes in this house of pain and misfortune.

ES, tell me;
Are your walls dripping black blood-like matter?
Has the local priest become afflicted with a plague of flies and locusts after visiting your abode?

I'm not very computer savvy when it comes to issues,but my system is very similar to yours es. Did you check the sound controls on your subwoofer? If they are too high or too low it will distort your sound.
