View Full Version : How liberal is Obama?

yes

Obama is for reduced In-State tuitions for illegal aliens and driver licenses for illegal aliens. You may like his personality and speeches but what counts is his views on issues.

Change we can believe in???

You really only have one issue, don't you? Do you have opinions on anything other than immigration, or is your whole life focused on keeping them damn Mexicans smoking their wacky tobaccy on their side of the Rio Grande?

WHY do my posts about illegal immigration bother you so much? And they obviously do!

P.S. How long have you had a crush on Obama? Are you in love with him?

If you believe that illegals should be sent home, then I'm with you.

If you believe that we should embrase legal immigration, then I'm with you.

If you believe that illeals run up the cost of health care by using our hospitals and not paying the bill, then I'm with you.

If you believe our laws should be enforced, then I'm with you.

As for the answer to the title of this thread:
"Obama has a 95 percent liberal rating from Americans for Democratic Reform, a liberal advocacy group that ranks all members of Congress. Yet he is often portrayed as a centrist."

DISagree on 1 and 3... agree on 2 and 4.

But if we don't do 4, the other points are actually moot anyway.

Not the Mexican's fault the U.S. is lax about enforcing our own immigration laws. Not their fault we allow them free healthcare, driver's licenses, schooling for their children, etc. They'd be really stupid not to take advantage of those offers. If you wanna point a finger, point it at the U.S. govt.

Might be about time to start a discussion of this issue, huh?

Should we give reduced tuition for illegal aliens? No. Should we give them driver's licenses? Well, they're going to drive anyway. At least if we give them licenses we know where they live. That's a good thing, right?

I don't think they're trying to sneak anything, Fool. I ride the train with a whole bunch of them every morning and they're right out there in the open. Using your example, who's to blame for them getting so much free candy... the store that hands it out or the kid who takes it?

Now I agree they break the law by crossing the border illegally. But if we don't at least do something to stop them at that point, we're spinning our wheels trying to come up with another way to solve the 'problem.'

Now, there's no way to say that if illegals could get licenses this woman would have applied for one and maybe received some driver's training along the way. On the other hand, maybe she would have and this tragedy could have been averted.

Lionel,

If we can find them to give them driver's licenses we can find them to deport them. If they aren't in the U.S they can't drive illegally on our roads.

How Liberal is Obama.?
Well nary 6 months ago,a very formidable talk radio host,
namely Bill Cunningham, who loves to mix humor, with slight
of seriousness, and the scuttlebutt had it that Obama, then
proffered about as a diehard Muslim with a checkered Religious
past, was ripe to Be the New Muslim in waiting for President
of ALL World spite.
In utter woyds,a Possible Muslim in waiting with a quick trigger
hand on the World's greatest Red Button { Missle deployment}.
I mean, there may be some truth to it.

Wow. Aj said the same exact thing today! If it weren't for the illegals, those kids would be alive today. Not only does that apply to the mexicans, but there are many koreans here in the states that can not drive worth a shit.

One thing I am most sick and tired of is the language indifference. Don't get me wrong, I speak Spanish and Korean well, but I'll be dipped if I call for info on my cable account and it says, 'press 2 for english language otherwise it is spanish'.

Fuck that. English should be the first language here in America, and the others 2nd. Learn friggin' engrish people!

Of course it could be said that if she had not been allowed to be here illegally... those kids would be alive today also.

Drivers licenses for illegals are akin to business licenses for meth dealers.

We need to have illegals driving legally???? This whole situation is preposterous.

We need to have illegals driving legally???? This whole situation is preposterous.I agree the situation is preposterous and we could no doubt discuss how things have come to such a pass. But the situation is what it is, and short of deporting 12 million people (an idea even more preposterous than giving licenses to illegals) I think it's time for us to face this reality. These people are here and driving on our roads. I'd rather see them pass a driver's test than not.

I would rather the people on the road all know how to drive, regardless of whether they are a citizen, immigrant or just on vacation.

i tend to take the side roads too...it's more about the journey than the final destination.

anyhow, there are plenty of ppl out there with valid DLs that drive like idiots. actually having one only gives the state the ability to take it away...and ppl still keep on driving. they just get a bonus ticket when they get caught.

A lot of dealerships will ask for a license to photocopy just on general principle, others will just ask for one if you go on a test drive. When I worked as a salesman, one guy actually had a knife pulled on him while he was taking a test drive. Guy got away with car, sales guy got fired for not getting a license photocopy.

But I seriously doubt a dealership will let a sale walk out the door if the customer doesn't have a license, they'll just insist someone else drives the car off the lot, and won't let the customer test drive the car themselves, just have the salesman do it, or one of the customer's friends.

If you are "flying under the radar" and are in the US illegally... why would you think that they would want legal drivers licenses? So they would have to buy the minimum amount of auto insurance too? In the area where I live, when an illegal hits your car, it's like cockroaches running from the light as soon as the accident happens... the car is left where it sits and there is no one available to talk to the police.

I agree that there are so many here in the US now that deportation is not the only answer. But we still refuse to try to enforce the illegal immigration laws that are already in place?

I equate this whole situation rather simply (for I am a simple person). If someone breaks into my house, begins eating my food and sleeping in my bed, I shouldn't have the right to kick their ass out (since they are "trying to make a better life")? Maybe I should get them put on my health insurance to boot? And I should also pay more taxes so their kids can go to my local public schools and health departments?

Bullshit.

Neither side of the aisle wants to address this problem. They are to enamored with the hispanic vote and/or the businesses that use/abuse these aliens. I'm fed up with the whole lot of them.

Sorry sedan... I'm in "rant mode" I guess.
