Congratulations to Ryan Newman and Penske Racing South for a great win at Daytona today.
Ryan gets his first win in 80 some races and Roger his very first plate win.
Hendrick cars didn't look so hot today.
On a side note---Ryan, Purdue grad, will prob be in the audience when Purdue takes on crossstate rival IU Tuesday at Assembly Hall, Bloomington..... a classic Big Ten battle between 2 proud schools, one on the rise, one hanging their heads in shame.
Folks, this will be Coach Sampson's last game at IU. Thanks, Sampson, for dragging our reputation through the mud, a reputation that we worked so hard to build. Go pull your stupid stunts somewhere else.

Hire Bob Knight as interim coach!

LOL, not a bad idea. Personally i'd give up a year's salary to have Knight back. God, it's been dull, not to mention, embarassing, having Sampson around.
Word is it'll probably be Dakich as interim coach.

While I realize IU has a long history of running a clean program, I think you greatly overestimate IU's reputation in the eyes of people living outside of Indiana. Most everyone else thinks Knight was a butthole.

Well, Indiana IS the only state that counts for basketball, Lionel.
For goodness sakes, EVERYONE knows THAT.
Take THAT, Golden Gopher!
"Golden Gophers?"
LOL.........

I think you may want to count North Carolina and a few others into that "only state that counts" scenario...

It's true North Carolina runs a fine program with a lot of tradition. So do Kansas, Georgetown, UCLA, Memphis,Kentucky, INDIANA.....notice I didn't mention Puke. The only thing they're good at is....well, won't say it just now.
Dean Smith is a close personal friend of Knight's. He wrote a letter to Sports Illustrated not long ago defending Knight, because that magazine has done nothing but slam IU over the years and butt-kiss Puke. It's pathetic.
Also our state had 5 or 6 teams in the Big Dance last year--Butler, IU, Purdue, Notre Dame--can't think of the others. This happens almost every year..... WE are the basketball powerhouse!!!
Besdies Lione'ls just jealous. He woulda KILLED to have had Knight at Minnesota!
As it is, the only thing they're famous for is the new movie about their program coming out this summer--

Honestly? No. For the record I never cared for Bob Huggins, who coached for my other alma mater either.

I think your scandal is a little more recent than my scandal. :p

!. OK, I'll buy that, Huggins was a drunk and a disgrace.
