This is one of many reasons why I rarely spent time on that side of the bay. Tampa sucks. Hillsborough County in general sucks.

This is so simple, they don't even need go over it in Kindergarten.
With the advent of Taser Guns,Both the Cop and the perp
are better off.
Cops don't have to wrassle round as much with a possible
Perp and also don't have to Kill with a Gun if it warrants.
What's better a Taz'd Perp or a wounded/dead one.

More than the one de-puty needs to be fired & charged. They also need to investigate the racial aspects of the case. Had this been race-reversed, white kop vs black wheelchair rider, Jackson, Sharpton, et al would be making their way to that little town & raising holy hell all the way, dragging a media parade behind them. As it stands now, they are turning a blind eye toward the behaviors of the badge-wearing sistahs.

This is one of those rare cases in which there is no defense for the cop's behavior. The officer who dumped the man should be fired and criminally charged.

The fact that the officer is a double minority, female and black tends to make me feel this is an example of the bad effects of loweering standards in hiring. Not only Officer Jones but the other officers present do not deserve to be police officers. When you lower the standards for one particular sub-group those standards are also lowered for other groups. The result can be seen in the video.

It's one isolated incident. Let's not jump the gun here.

What gets me is that the officer's supervisors were standing right there and did nothing but watch.

It's indicative of the "we vs they" attitude so pervasive within the law enforcement community.

Attorney: Charge Officers for Throwing Quadriplegic from Wheelchair
In Florida, calls are growing for criminal charges against four police
officers suspended for tipping a quadriplegic man out of his wheelchair.
Surveillance footage shows the officers threw Brian Sterner out of his
wheelchair after he was brought to jail over a traffic violation. Sterner
says the officers grew angry at him after he told them he could not obey
their orders to stand up. His attorney, John Trevena, called for
prosecution.

John Travena: “That detention deputy should be charged criminally for abuse
and battery on a disabled person.”

There might be a provision within the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 that provides for severe penalties for those convicted of abuse.

the guy is paralyzed Fool,I really don't think he was in any condition to be getting up and trying run away or do any form of harm to the officers. By the looks of the video all he was doing was taking his shoes off and then I seen the officer dump him out onto the floor.
The cop was clearly in the wrong here as were the others who looked on and did nothing. I see a huge lawsuit against Hillsborough County in the very near future.

Jailhouse Deputy Charged (http://origin.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_8275506)

A sheriff's deputy who was videotaped dumping a paralyzed man from a wheelchair onto a jailhouse floor has been charged with abuse of a disabled person, a sheriff's official said Friday.

Surveillance footage from Jan. 29 shows Hillsborough County deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, 44, dumping Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair and searching him on the floor after he was brought in on a warrant after a traffic violation

Marshall-Jones was suspended without pay, and three other deputies were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
Marshall-Jones is charged with abuse of a disabled person, a third-degree felony, said Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee. If convicted, she could be sent to prison for five years.

Marshall-Jones could not be reached by phone for comment Friday night. A telephone number listed in her name has been disconnected.

That bitch should be charged with a felony. I dont know about prison time though. I think having a felony on her record and a suspended sentence should be enough if she is convicted.
