I turn 40 later this year. I'm not naive or stupid when it comes to commercials. However lately I'm getting a little tired of the discrepencies between the commercials and real fast food life.

Yesterday I was in the mood for Wendy's. I pull in order a double with fries. When I opened the wrapper, there was my sandwhich the way I ordered it, but it looked disgusting. Bathed in grease, the lettuce withered, everything just not appealing. It tasted allright, but the image just wont leave me in peace.

Today I've seen several commericials for wendys and other fast food place. The pictures on the screen and in print are so beautiful. Why can't the food look at least a little close to the ads. We can clone sheep, genetically engineer glow in the dark kittens but we can't get a hamburger to look a little like the advertisments. :rant:

The fast food, always been like that. The turning 40 -- I can identify! That's weighs heavier than the cramped burgers, greasy fries and flat soda. For some reason it seems like it means I have to come to terms that I am no longer a child.

indoor menu board.
So,yes,When you order yer grease pile dung,it looks even better than
what yer 12" B&W TV displayed.
But when ya git Home,that fast Food Bag is probably spotted with
grease,inside & out,Like yer TV.

Bad people showing up does have it's advantages. ;)

I can buy a pound of ground beef, a bag of frozen french fires & a package of burger buns, take it all home & have a couple of meals for the price of a trip though the drive-thru. Not having to deal with the apathy at MickeyD's or one of its' clones ... priceless.

Big companies like Wendy's hire the best of the best to create their commercials. What do you expect? It's a good commercial if it made people go buy the stuff.

Same thing with biggest beer companies. They (their commercials) are usually pieces of incredible originality, production, and persuasion...and the quality and frequency of commercials generally inversely proportional to the taste of the beer.

My problem with fast food commercials is the shameless use of child psychology.

I'm turning 49 in a few days and in no way do I feel like an old Fogie! And in no way do I look like one, either. Now, my homemade hamburgers and fries are damn good and a lot less expensive than take-out. I make thick, grilled burgers with the works..everything is fresh. In fact that's what I'm making tonight for dinner. :D
