I know I'm not the most prolific poster around here. However the last two months, I've been practically non-existant. Well here's why. 1. Financial Reasons: We and the Cable company had a falling out. One week ago I got a yearly bonus and we got back on line. 2. Computer virus. Here's where the idiot part comes in.
During the downtime, I decided the computer was getting a little slow and needed a tune up. In doing this, I erased the anti virus program on my comp. Thereby releasing a few viruses that had been in quarantine. Son of a bitch!
Went to a proffessional and a tech-geek friend, both told me it was too late, the damage was done. Needed to restore. So I got my restore cd's, I read the comp manual to make sure I knew what I was doing. Ah wait a minute.
Now then I know many may not know this about me. My two personal passions are writing and art. I have a degree in graphic design, the writing had been a hobby that has been growing lately. Well needless I have a lot of shit on my comp. So before I do this, I need to save what what was really important. After checking with the wife and backed up what she needed. I pulled out my trusty flash drive and proceeded to make sure anything and everything important was saved.
So last night I spent two and half hours restoring. Everything went about as well as it could. A few hic-cups but for the most part, I was happy and relieved. This morning I am reconnecting with all of what I needed to reconnect to (i.e. this place) when it hit me.
Yup I saved everything that I had done for the past few years, of my writings. My artwork, designs, and other art related stuff is gond. Kaput, a memory, too late and a dollar short.
So there you are. I'm finally back but apparently I'm brain damaged and now fully retarded. :mad:
