I missed out on the earlier thread of Patton elsewhere. I'm trying to trace authentication of his speech to the men of the 180th Infantry Regiment: ' We must build up that name as killers etc.' What appeared to be a genuine text was logged, but biographies of the gentleman appear to gloss over the detail of what he actually said. Is there a proven and reliable source that confirms that General Patton really did utter these words?
