I like gin rummy... HATE spades though. I suck at any game in which I have to be on a team of some sort. :p

Maybe you play a different kind of spades, DF, than we play here. Our version is single-player spades.

I don't like couple-games myself. Maybe that's why I suck at Euchre. Fights can break out over that particular gem--my sis and her hubby almost ended up in divorce court once over a Euchre game.

In the spades we play here, it's usually 4 players (although I think 6 can work too), and you play in teams of 2, and it's a trick taking game kind of like hearts, except it has a trump suit (spades) and you bid on how many tricks your team will take.

It's like euchre. Instead of the ace of spades the suit is called and whatever suite is called the Jacks of that suite become boss.

I only bring that up because they mentioned euchre and knowing euchre would help to know spades.
