According to a new paper by a Danish researcher, blue eyes come as the result of a single mutation that occurred 10,000 years ago. Which means that all people with blue peepers have a common ancestor.

The paper, published Thursday by Danish geneticist Hans Eiberg in the journal Human Genetics, links all baby blues to a single mutation that occurred 10,000 years ago.

I can remember my mother singing, Beautiful, beautiful brown eyes, I'll never love blue eyes again, when I was a kid. I hated that song because my younger brother had brown eyes.

Oddly enough-over the years Ive noticed Irish people with green eyes are fucken crazy with drink on them.

Mine are a nice shade of (bloodshot) blue.

Lot's of walruses have red eyes.

So I guess all green eyed people are probably similarly related... I have green eyes. Although my eyes were blue until I was about 10, then gray/changed colors from 11 to 13, and they've been green since then. I wonder how they'd explain that?

Possibly a traumatic head injury at around 10 years of age?
