This is about the saddest and sickest news story I've seen in a long time... and they are only 19 and 20 years old.

As much as I like to look at/discuss lesbians.... the fact that these two "continually hit the girl on the head" with a concrete block, makes me feel kind of light headed (and somewhat ill)

the thought of being hit repeatedly with a concrete block in the head makes me sick and makes my migraine yesterday seem like nothing

the snickering from the dock and the thought of them running loose in 15 years got me:mad:

I am on the fence about the death penalty but it seems to apply in this case.

Horrid as the crime was I still don't believe in the death penalty. I do believe they should be placed in a maximum security prison with no chance of parole though. They should be kept in individual cells with no contact with anyone but the guards and even that contact should be minimal. No goingf into the general population, no visits from family or friends, no exercise yard, nothing but a six by eight foot cell with a thin mattress and a stainless steel toilet. Meals served in the cell and no contact with any other prisoners.

...and supplied a 20' piece of hemp rope, a 60 day supply of Ambien, and a pack of "razor sharp" stainless steel playing cards. They could jump rope for physical exercise, play solitaire for mental exercise, and the sleep aids would help them recover from all that exercise.

I actually know quite a few. There were the ones that I played ball with for several years plus those that I now deal with in the interior design community. Some do have some male-like traits, others are quite feminine. The same can be said for gay men. I have found that it's rather hard to determine, by looks and actions alone, another's sexuality.
There are those that are "flambouyant" and others that are non-descript. I think many base their opinion on TV and movies... which often present the stereotypical (and often degrading) gay persona.

Like OldPhart, I know quite a few lesbians and very few of them are obviously mannish. Ir is a mistake to think you can recognize lesbians or gay men by the way they look. While some lesbians take on male dress and hair styles and some gay men act swishy the majority look just like anyone else. You probably see many of them every day and simply assume they are straight.

and some gay men act swishy
swishy? :lolhit:
I have a gay friend and you'd never guess he was gay until he said so. I didn't know he was gay until about 2 months after I met him and he told me. Dressed like a guy, talked like a guy, acted like a straight guy. It is hard to determine someones sexuality based on looks alone.
Frogger

Yep, swishy as in like a girlie man.
I attend two or three bashes a year that are majority gay attended or have about a fifty fifty mix of gays and straights. It is usually not possible to tell the players without a scorecard but in some cases the women assume mannish mannerisms and the men act very effeminate. I worked for more than twenty years with a male homosexual appropriately named Guy who acted more masculine than most straight guys. No one would have ever known he was gay had he not been open about it.

This was a nasty crime-for sure.
Tho Ive seen worse. Much worse.
In Belfast in the 70s there was a Loyalist Gang [Protestant Murder Gang]
called the 'Shankill Butchers', their last victum-who lived near me managed, against all odds to survive his kidnapping and ordeal at these animals hands.
His name was Marley-cant remember his first name but no matter.
They drilled this guys head with a drill-while still concise, then cut his throat and pulled his tongue out of it-and he survived.
They were so sure he was dead they never wore any masks-he was able to ID the whole gang.
Anyone thinks I make this up-google 'Shankill Butchers'.
I seen them once on the way home-hid in someones garden and they drove on by-never forget it.

this does bring to mind the story of 12 year old Shanda Sharer, taken from her home in Indiana by 4 teenage girls and beaten, sodomized, locked in a car trunk and then set on fire while still alive. I don't recall this when it happened, but I did read the book and was sickened by the things done to this little girl. :(

This is the biggest load of bolloc*s I've ever heard.
The last victim of the Shankill Butchers was Gerard McLaverty, from Crumlin, Co. Antrim, who died recently. He was attacked and left for dead but survived and identified his attackers. That led to the arrest of many of the gang members and all the foot-soldiers were jailed in 1979. However, Lenny Murphy and his brothers William and John ("Mr A" and "Mr B" in the Martin Dillon book) were never prosecuted.
As to "hiding in someone's garden", that came from the Dillon book too.
The "Marley" you refer to is your head, to use an old Belfast expression!
To post what you did was a disgrace, given the subject matter. You are a sick and sad person.

What more is there to say??
From your post, you manipulated well-known and disturbing facts from the Martin Dillon book in Walter Mitty fashion and made it sound as if you were party to the incidents in question when clearly you weren't.
Anyhow, the Shankill Butchers were a large group of vicious sectarian murderers that operated in Belfast in the mid-70s, bringing terror to the city. Led by the Murphy brothers, only one of whom is now alive, they engaged in a wide variety of terrorist activities and in-fighting but gained notoriety primarily through savage attacks on and throat-slashings of six Catholic men abducted at random late at night.

I lived thru the Butcher days, tho admittedly very young at the time.
A neighbour of mine was a victim of the gang, what I wrote was from memory, not a book or look up somewhere, if details are not accurate so be it.
