LOL.
Nugent, let nobody deny, is a great rock guitarist. A guitar god. I enjoy his music immensely.
But politically, he is just another "Ah'll give up mah guns when they pry 'em from my dead fingers!!" redneck lunatic.

We need more celebrities in politics.
Like Cameron Diaz: "I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. We could lo--if you think that rape should be legal, then don't vote."

Nugent, let nobody deny, is a great rock guitarist. A guitar god. I enjoy his music immensely.
But politically, he is just another "Ah'll give up mah guns when they pry 'em from my dead fingers!!" redneck lunatic. Well I never was a big fan although I had a least one Nugent album. I do remember going to see Ted Nugent open for Bad Company in San Antonio,Texas in the 70's. That was around the time of Cat Scratch Fever and when Nugent had his best line-up in his band. He totally sucked live. Or at least the night I saw them. Bad Company kicked his ass live! Anyway I never believed him when he said he never did drugs. He said he did not even know his song Journey to the Center of the mind was about drugs! Huh! I believe that as much as I believe Bill Clinton didn't inhale. Then when the lead singer of Thin Lizzy died Nugent had to make some nasty remarks about him. I think one of Thin Lizzy's fans knocked him out! Although Nugent is from Michagan he now lives in Waco,Texas(not far from Crawford). Of course he still has his place in Michagan I'm pretty sure. He has even talked of running for a political office. It is really no surprise to me that Nugent and Norris back Huckabee but Ron Jeremy? He is a pornstar and Huckabee is an evangelical. That is what I think is really strange.

You're right, it is strange... I wonder how kindly Huckabee takes to that particular "endorsement". :p

I thought Ted Nugent would have learned to shut his trap by now after he got in trouble for threatening to shoot Hillary and Barak with a machine gun (http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2007/08/24/ted-nugent-threatens-to-kill-barack-obama-and-hillary-clinton-during-vicious-onstage-rant/) during a concert a couple months ago.
Also, I think Ric Flair is one of Huckabee's supporters too. There is someone who's political opinions I really care about.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if the "overtly" Christian Huckabee has some fucked up shit going on behind closed doors. Let's see, a morally right wing bible beating christian republican with a sex addiction or something? naahhhh

Sure, that happens......
About 1/3rd as often as it does in your camp. And the kicker is, you laud it when it takes place. It's "socially liberating", right? Pffft, LOL.

No, fuckwit.
The true *kicker* in all of this is that the people who are the most debauched and lecherous sob's on the planet tend all too often to be the very same ultra rightwing crusaders and propagandists who get all spiffed up in their Sunday-Go-To-Meeting clothes and prance around on national television on the weekends and scream from their pulpits about what a "morally bankrupt" () people Americans are becoming.
The hypocrisy is off the chart.

Yeah, I see what you mean....it's almost like a politician trumpeting the fact that he's "green", when, in reality, he uses 20 times the energy you do, lives in a 10,000 sq/ft home, and flies around on a private jet to scream from his pulpit about the dangers of "global warming" ().
The hypocrisy is off the chart, but come to think of it, the aforementioned "debauched and lecherous sob's" generally don't profit monetarily from preaching their morality to the masses. Hell, maybe they could even learn a thing or two from their democratic contemporaries' recipe for "success"; and that's to drum up some fear with a side of speculative science and a dash of hyped media coverage, and voilà - you've got a panicked populace that rewards your efforts by making you a Nobel laureate. All told, in the end, they purchase your books, pay you to speak at their "eco" conventions, and you make a shitload of cash. It's brilliant, actually.

Lets see... on the one hand you have a wealthy, world-renowned celebrity, politician, philanthropist, and environmental activist.
On the other hand, you have a man who makes wooden toys.
And here you are... acting shocked and outraged that the globe-trotting celebrity uses more energy than the toy-maker.
And you wonder why nobody can take you seriously...

Kucinich has support from Sean Penn and Viggo Mortensen (http://www.alternet.org/blogs/election08/73395/)
Obama has a ton of celebs.. I don't get it..
I always thought of Clooney as a sharp guy but I don't understand why he supports "any way the wind blows" Obama.
Obama to me comes off like a good speaker but empty meaningless speeches w/no details of any real "change"(had to use their new buzzword).
As dems go Obama seems almost as lame as Hillary. Business as usual and more of the same.

I dunno, Jim. I kinda like Obama. I think that his "any way the wind blows" attitude could actually be good for getting things done. He seems like the type who works very hard to make compromises across party lines, which is something we don't see very much in politics today. Therefore, it's really not "more of the same". :) In fact, I think I would have much the same attitude if I were the President - compromise is one of my favorite things as those of you who've seen me in me "hall monitor" (thanks SMW) position know very well. :p
