At present, I'm in Bolingbrook, IL, on the southwest corner of I-55 and Rte. 53. :) Bring some Pine Sol - I'll reimburse you.

You must care - to take the time to give me your opinion, an opinion I don't care about one way or the other, Nappy.
Why would you think it matters to me whether you care about my opinion or not? This is an open forum, I don't just post for you, even when I'm addressing it to you.

I DON'T get 'constantly' attacked.
Then why the hell were you whining? You people! Jeez!

But, it takes all kinds and I've known lots of your kind, sir.
Sure you have.

I really don't feel animosity toward anybody here. I honestly like to get along, but that doesn't mean being a doormat for snot-nosed juveniles who think they know so much. I think it would behoove some of the younger people on this forum to try and actually learn from those of us who have truly 'been there, done that', but there are too many attitudes floating around this place for that happen. A shame.
I think you could try to learn a thing or two from me. Other people have, and many of them even end up thanking me later. I have older people I look to for advice and mentorship. People who have earned my respect. Most of them don't post here. I don't need to get my advice from a webforum, and I find it rather amusing that others do. I also find it funny when old folk just expect younger people to simply respect their opinions and junk without first earning their respect. It's a two way street, sweetheart.

sweet little trick-stick your finger thru the wheel and feel the brake rotor, it should be smooth on both sides (do the outside first, that will save the crawling on the ground doing the inside of the rotor) and walk away when you find one with deep grooves, it really needs pads & rotors...light grooves might kill the deal if you're not excited about the car, it needs pads and the rotors turned. if it's worn unevenly there's a sticking caliper (that's the big money) and if the wear tabs are off, it's been tapered with-run, do not walk away. make sure you do this before the car moves-hot brakes will burn your fingers:(

when it's moving thru the block, listen and watch-no grinding while the car is moving, and should stop smoothly. ;)

if you're really excited about the car-you can always call a brake shop and get a guesstimate on pads rotors and calipers too;)

otoh-suck up to a dealership's buyer, the big dealer-only auctions have test tracks. you just can't wait until auction day.

you are not short, dammit! you're just on the low side of average:flowers:
Yeah... 5'4" is average for American women. I wouldn't call myself tall, but most of my friends are around my height or a little shorter. I don't know that many women who are more than an inch taller than I am.

Most women are done by 16/17, 18 at the latest, and a lot are done earlier. I've been 5'6" since my 14th birthday, and I wasn't an early bloomer either.

I have tiny hands, but fairly large feet for my size... I wear a ring size 5.5-6 (bigger on one hand than the other) but my shoe size is 8.5 or 9. My mom is taller than I am and has smaller feet - and her feet were even smaller than they are now before she had kids.

I can wear a 6 and a half to a 7. I'm the smallest of my siblings both height and weight wise

sweet little trick-stick your finger thru the wheel and feel the brake rotor, it should be smooth on both sides (do the outside first, that will save the crawling on the ground doing the inside of the rotor) and walk away when you find one with deep grooves, it really needs pads & rotors...light grooves might kill the deal if you're not excited about the car, it needs pads and the rotors turned. if it's worn unevenly there's a sticking caliper (that's the big money) and if the wear tabs are off, it's been tapered with-run, do not walk away. make sure you do this before the car moves-hot brakes will burn your fingers:(

when it's moving thru the block, listen and watch-no grinding while the car is moving, and should stop smoothly. ;)

if you're really excited about the car-you can always call a brake shop and get a guesstimate on pads rotors and calipers too;)

otoh-suck up to a dealership's buyer, the big dealer-only auctions have test tracks. you just can't wait until auction day.

Wow, thanks for the great advice but I don't think I'll be buying a car from an auction again. I actually love the car I have right now. It's a 1994 Mystique and it rocks and is the newest vehicle I've ever owned. I love the old iron, as do you.

Girls, forget feet size when estimating the size of a prospective date's package. Look at his hands, specifically his index fingers.

Oct. 3, 2002 — Men are often concerned about the adequacy of their external genitalia. To determine a basis on which to advise patients, investigators measured penile length and testicular volume in healthy young males and compared them with other body measures, as reported in the September issue of Urology.

"The lack of standardized metric data and the absence of widely acceptable criteria on the proper size of the external genitalia poses major difficulties in the counseling and/or treatment of young adult men with worries of sexual inadequacy," write Evangelos Spyropoulos, MD, PhD, and colleagues from the Naval and Veterans Hospital of Athens, Greece.

Somatometric parameters measured in physically normal men younger than age 40 years included tape measurements of penile dimensions in the flaccid-stretched state (total, shaft, glanular lengths), penile shaft volume calculation, and ultrasonographic testicular volume estimation. These values were tested for correlation with age, height, weight, body mass index, waist/hip ratio, and index finger length.

Mean testicular volume was 16.9 ± 4.7 cm3; total penile length, 12.18 ± 1.7 cm; penile shaft length, 7.76 ± 1.3 cm; glanular length, 4.4 ± 0.4 cm; and penile shaft volume, 46.5 ± 17.2 cm3. Although total, shaft, and glanular penile length were significantly correlated to index finger length (P<.05) and to penile shaft volume (P<.001), the authors recommend larger-scale studies involving more subjects to confirm this trend.

"The proposed mathematical formula...presumably could become a useful tool in the field of clinical evaluation of erectile dysfunction," the authors write. "Age and somatometric parameters were not associated with the size of the genitalia, excluding the index finger length, which correlated significantly with the dimensions of the flaccid, maximally stretched, penis."

Pfffft. Old cars blow. On that note, I'm surprised you've had good luck with your Mystique, for it essentially shared underpinnings with the Ford Contour, and in stock form, that car had an ABYSMAL service record. Of course, the SVT engineers (Special Vehicles Team) developed a somewhat cool derivation of the Contour using a European-sourced, DOHC, 24-valve, Duratec V-6. The manual gearbox was a little vague and rubbery feeling, but the engineers employed the use of a completely revamped suspension setup with larger brakes and a stiffened chassis. I happened to own one of 'em when I was in college. I had it until 2001 (when it turned 3 - which is "old iron", IMO). Here's a picture of it:

How dare you "pfffft" me. You can be so rude sometimes, golly!

Say what? A 3 year old car is not considered 'old iron'. HAHA! That's hysterical.

My first car was a 1964 Nova, a classic and it was very cool and quite fast.

Also had a 1970 Chevelle, also very cool and fast. My last muscle car was a 1968 El Camino that was unbelievably cool after I got it painted bright yellow and put Craigars on it, etc. It had a 350 in it but I eventually put a 454 in it. Talk about a screamer!

Anyway, I don't think this stuff gets yer testosterone pumpin so I'll leave it at that.

This is my car and I sure do love her. I don't 'street race' any longer so I guess I grew up, at least a little bit. :p

Her name is Mysty and yes, she does kind of resemble the car you posted...

Well dad was gonna take the racing engine out of it and put something a little more reasonable in it... Anyways, I'm happy now because dad is going to get me a used Mustang for my graduation present. The base power train is identical, but you're correct in that the cars of higher trim employ different engines. There's a Mazdaspeed 6 that kicks the shit outta ANYTHING Ford offers in that class. It's powered by the same 2.3-liter turbocharged inline 4 that they put in the Mazdaspeed 3, but in this case, it's not de-tuned. It generates 274 hp, and it has all-wheel-drive. It would be a great car for someone my age.
