I gave the simpsons movie a 6 because while it was funny on some parts, and deep in others, and was a great ride... it had SO MUCH to live up to in my opinion. I would say I have a bias opinion on this movie.

The "spiderpig" song is quite catchy, as is the simpson's theme by greenday. My hope was that the simpsons brand, which had been due for a movie for about 10 years, would end with this movie... perhaps homer dying or something in a funny way.

My opinion is the opposite! I came into it with the highest expectations ever, so naturally I knew that I would probably be disappointed, but it SO exceeded all my expectations. I'd give it a 10.

I haven't watched it yet - I have loved the simpsons over the years - for it's pure genius - I expect this movie to be a let down.

My 3 year old suddenly started singing spider pig in the car around the time the movie came out - although I thought that amusing - it added to my expectation that the movie wouldn't hit the mark

Problem with simpsons is that the episodes are usually so good that it is tricky to make a film that doesn't look like anything more than a long episode.

Yes, it WAS like a long episode. Everyone says that, but I don't see how it's a problem. The episodes are good, and a long episode is even better!

It's not a problem, I just expected another level, but I guess there wasn't one :)
